Was recommended this restaurant so had reasonable expectations.
Greeted warmly and our orders taken promptly. The restaurant was quite cold on this cool September night.
Ordered chicken pad Thai and vegetarian pad pak with peanut sauce, curry puffs and a small rice.
Curry puffs were fine, pad Thai was very light on with the chicken and prawn but tasted pretty good. We asked for extra peanut sauce on the pad pak which was a bit of a mistake because it wasn't the best peanut sauce I have tasted so partly our fault.
Service was pleasant but a bit slow, which wouldn't have mattered so much if the restaurant wasn't cold and the seats uncomfortable.
Drank the complimentary water and bill came to $46.60
Seems to be popular with the locals.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here , so much to like even my fussy husband couldn’t fault a thing ! The menu is extensive and the staff are really well informed on the meals and local produce , we enjoyed the arancini and the salmon croquettes for entree , the croquettes were cooked to perfection , hot and crispy . For main we had the lamb rump and pork belly on red cabbage and shared a dessert with alcohol it was very reasonably priced under $150 for the two of us . I liked the wine flight were we enjoyed 4 local wines for $19pp, the hostess chose the wines based on our meals which were perfectly matched

Tastiest meat pies ever. Friendly personnel and reasonable prices. Food was very fresh. Highly recommend their meat pies and sweets.

Second time here and a great lunch, once again. The view and surrounding atmosphere is amazing. It's great to sit outside in the garden with the fresh, country air. Lovely views of the surrounds. The food is a great pub food, definitely recommend the schnitty with chips and a salad. Service is nice, always with a smile. Great to pop in and check out.

We only had hot chocolate here and we even came on a day when the clouds surrounded us so all we saw was a sea of white interspersed with a few beautifully coloured lorikeets at the bird tables. Despite this, we will remember the trip and the place and the friendly service.

Walking into this shop is like walking back in time, it reminds me of old country stores from the turn of the 19th Century. Travelling around Oz, very few of these wooden establishments still exist, so its a history lesson for the kids. That said the only reason to stop here is to buy pies, which are dispensed with a smile. As everyone else has said, they are served piping hot so sit outside, enjoy the view and take a while to enjoy, lest the roof of your mouth peels off the next day!!

Having been coming to establishment for approx 20 years and have found fudge and confectionary excellent. Had the chocolate and caramel fudge plus chocolate coated hokey pokey honeycomb, all delicious. Had ice-cream, double in a tub, vanilla coffee and old English toffee for $7.00 and...MoreThank you so much for your feedback and continued support! Sorry about the huge ice cream serve...we just want you to get value for money! Looking forward to spoiling you again next trip.

The guy in this shop looks like he have some health issues but he behaved properly with us. We ordered the Pizza and it was fantastic. The taste was awesome. As per other reviews that guy prepared the food without gloves. As the food was tasty and healthy then no problem for us to go back again.

Nice pie and the view from the shop verandah..plus the gourmet coffee, all added to the "World's Best Pie" accolade. Truly an old world charm and pleasant moment to enjoy the light meal right. Even the shop lazy dog enhanced the experience.
When in Kangaroo Valley, check out your GPS...and come straight here. No regrets. The signature pie - The Traditional Aussie, is the one to go for. Eat together with the pie pastry as otherwise, it might be a tad salty. Wash down with the gourmet latte....Awesome mate !

stopped for a devonshire tea (was obviously not the place recommended by my friend), scones were chewy pale white bricks, served with cheap jam and that horrid fake canned cream, both tea cups needed a good clean (one was chipped) and the cheap tea was horrid, the kids were surprized at the large lolly range (so much cheaper at the grocery store next door), didn't try the 'famous fudge' as thought it might be made in the same home as the terrible scones.
