Reviews on Italian food in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Yokohama is easily accessible from Tokyo, but there’s enough to see and do here that it’s worth more than a day trip. Visit Minato Marai 21, a popular, modern neighborhood with great shopping and tons of restaurant options. TripAdvisor travelers also recommend stopping at Big Wharf (Osanbashi Pier), a uniquely shaped pier with spectacular views.

Great, great oven fired pizza from a chef you trained in Italy. Other great Italian dishes as well. You will need a reservation if you come after 6:00 or so, but they have take out that you can order right there. Really delicious. Great choice right before a baseball game with the stadium nearby.

A casual restaurant, facing Yamashita Park, offers all day dinng with a wide salection of menu. The menu includes our original dishes. Enjoy your drinks and meals in this friendly cafe desingned by P. Barry.
Even though the claim to fame for The Cafe is its being the birthplace of two Japanese western dishes, it's worth visiting today. The Seafood Doria is one of those dishes and it's worth the price of admission. Rich and decadent it's the kind of food people don't eat anymore. The chocolate sundae is also old fashioned and delicious.

This place was a pleasant surprise. As a construction professional I often look at interiors and how places use materials as decor and finishings. Some places just slap drywall up, some quick paint, keep things cheap and get on with the motions of the business, however, this was a different story. I could tell this place was built with care, and a cleverness I don't often encounter. So for one, the ambience was great. On par with that was the service. For example, I finished a glass of water while staff was pouring everyone else's glasses. She failed to pour mine, and I thought as she walked away that she missed my glass. Instead, moments later she returned with another pitcher of water and filled my glass. So, I can tell that the staff are attentive. I never had an empty beer for more than a few moments, but on to that point, the beer variety was also good. Plenty of selection from stouts, ambers, malty beers, IPAs, and fruitier choices. I have nothing to complain about regarding the food either. So honestly, this is a first rate establishment. Go check it out!Your expressions and perspectives are a pleasure to read! This restaurant is closed every Sunday, first and third Monday. Since established in 2007. Hard to make a booking is a topic between gourmet people, and it is always ranked top on âTabelogâ. In 2016, we crowned the âFirst place of Italian division in Japa
We have been eating at Salone and its siblings since it was Scilliano in Ginza and ate at Salone 2007 the first night it opened for business in Yokohama. It has always been suberb and the most recent visit, for a friend's 60th birthday, was no exception. The chef, staff and management are terrific. The winelist is among the best, certainly for Italian wine, anywhere around Tokyo and the value is exceptional. This is not a "cheap" restaurant -- dinner is 10,500 yen pp -- but the quality, presentations and inventions of Chef Higuchi, as group master, and his staff are little short of perfect. Many, many meals at 3,500 yen or so are far, far more "expensive" in terms of value.Letting the staff know your wine likes and price range, then letting them choose, just as the chefs choose the menu each month, has never been a miss in more than a dozen visits over the years. The dinner is chef's choice, but you can call ahead and specifiy all vegetarian dishes or gluten-free -- they will make the pasta with rice instead of wheat.Very much a southern Italian menu, but with the care and attention to detail, not to mention impeccably sourced ingredients, the entire experience competes with the best Japanese kaiseki meal.Guidebooks rate Salone 2007 among the top in Japan, but tend to downplay it a bit, in my opinion, because reservations are a must, and hard to get for the weekend. But with fewer than 30 seats -- much more of the restaurant is wine cellar than might be the case in many establishments -- this is intimate, comfortable dining at its best.Highly, highly recommended.
Top 10 International food in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

We were a small party of 4 who thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at La Vela. Westerners, particularly those from the US, might be disappointed in the portion size. For example, the rack of lamb here had only 2 ribs while you would expect a minimum of at least double that amount if not more. Overall, we were very impressed with the service as well as the cooking. To maintain the illusion of being in an Italian restaurant, there was an ample smattering Italian dishes including, for those in need of a "pick me up," a facsimile of a Tiramisu on the dessert menu. Bottom line is the food is tasty, well executed in a sort of japanese-style and professionally served to make for a very pleasant evening.
