At first we went there to eat, the food was good and we liked the friendly family atmosphere created by the owners. After we found out that they make tours also, and we cancelled the tours we booked with our previous guides and contracted Shyan for the tours, and oooo how happy we were! I am shure he provides the greatest tours, he is very kind and very keen on giving the tourists the best experience ever and he succeeds!! Good job! And thank you for our experiences!

We loved the food. You get quite a good choice of food there. There is always 5 mains to choose from and the Deserts are to die for. The waiters can't do enough for you especially Cheeky chappie! You must ask for him...he's is so so funny with his Cockney slang. My 9 year old son who is the most fussy eater did not like most of the food so the chef was happy to make him something that he wanted and we didn't have to pay for it. The staff really can't do enough for you and I really do miss them all x

Beautiful location in a tranquil cove, the owners are welcoming and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble at all. As well as the restaurant there is the massage centre, considerably better value than the hotels price and really focused as you desire. A must visit.

We visited this restaurant on the advice of our tour guide Reshni and quickly made it our local visiting it daily, the staff we all always friendly and I now consider them my friends, they made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble they made us some wonderful local seafood dishes and when the spice got too much for me Aunty even made me a cheese toasty (not many places would). This place is right on the beach and the view was just awesome the sunsets were perfect. It truly was paradise.

Firstly this restaurant is no longer on the beach but is well signposted from the old location on the right not far from the Avani hotel. Apparently, the original restaurant was burnt down, which is a real shame as the beach/sunset location would really of made the overall experience idealistic. The restaurant environment is lit with bright lights and lacks an intimate feel, however, that said- the food is very good! We had a chicken curry and there was bowl upon bowl of accompaniments. The owner phillipe entertained us with his card tricks and was keen to show us photos of his previous restaurant.

We had the lobster. Actually we had three lobsters each. The rice and noodles were lovely. They brought me a spicy side dish which was heaven. They were attentive and friendly. The setting is great as you are up one floor watching all the activity in the street below. Definitely recommended.

Staff is very friendly but the environment is not good for restaurant at all. Their food is ok but the only thing is environment. Cats are running across the restaurant and lying on the tables. So please create a appropriate environment.

Ate here on a few occasions to try different things, had barracuda and tuna which were ok but nothing to get over excited about. Tried the fish soup which was very bland and lacking flavour. Tried the mullet which was nice but even though it was meant to come with salad, chips and rice it was missing the rice and was told that the rice had finished for the night. Had chicken fried rice which we asked for extra spicy, came with no spice and was so dry it was almost inedible, which was a shame as they are not small portions and I was looking forward to it. Most of the staff are friendly, but they do rush you and have no concept of starters and main courses as all food comes in any order and you end up with it all together. Was disappointed as it had a great write up.

Lovely restaurant on the beach!
Honest: if the trip is supposedf to take 3 hours - Anthony, unlike others, will not tell you that it will only take 40 minutes. Food in his restaurant is excellent and always fresh - we (there were 10 of us) dined there every single day and celebrated my mother's 80th birthday. Tables can be ste right on the beach... Id I ever come to Sri-Lanca again and happen to be near Kulutara I will dine in Anthony's restaurant.
