Find out what Scandinavian restaurants to try in Kolding. Billing itself as one of Denmark's friendliest towns, Kolding certainly appears welcoming—its streets lined with cherry red Danish flags that seem to be constantly waving hello. A medieval castle towers over vibrant parks that bloom with flowers and medicinal spices. On balmy days families will be grateful for SlotssøBadet, an extraordinary waterpark that's a blast for all ages.

For Danish standards reasonable prices and gigantic servings, up to steaks 500g and 1kg !Nice tasty Steaks, burgers, Wiener Schnitzels.Good selection of beers, soda's (incl in XXXL size), whiskeys, coffee, etcNo water or sparking water in bottles.Forget about starters, just go directly for entrees (main course).Cozy atmosphere (although not all staff understand how to smile and be courteous), small toilet (just 1 unisex small room), however, great menu,Seatings and good bar.

On holiday in Denmark we took the opportunity to make a Sunday visit to the Trpholt Cenre for Danish Art & Design in Kolding and on arrival noticed that Sunday Brunch was on offer for 160dk (about £17) including entrance to the exhibition. This seemed a very reasonable proposition so we decided to combine our vist with our midday meal. This was one of our better decisions! When we arrived at the cafe we found a vast array of typically Danish food. Among the items available were cold meats, cheeses, herrings, salad vegatables and pickles along with hot bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages. There was a varitey of breads and spreads, fruits, yoghurts and pastries along with coffee, tea and fruit juices. While the decor was a little utilitarian and it was fairly noisy with friendly family groups the food was plentiful and very good. Among the exhibits was a range of portraits of the Danish Royal Family and we learned that the Queen of Denmark had lunched in the cafe as recently as 31st August. If her lunch was as good as ours then she would have enjoyed her visit too!

Nice location by the water. Coffee and cake fair (but not great) and price about standard for area. We did not eat a full meal but they did look very good as they went by on the way to other tables. Staff, while not effusive, pleasant enough. Could be nice for lunch.

We have now come here at Aagaard Kro through the last 10 years, so this was our 10 year annivesary. From the reception till we were seated we were guided very professionally and personally by Jesper. It is his spirit and professionalism that carries this place and brings the service and food to a very high level. As starter we had a delicious fois gras followed by an even more delicious fish. As main course we probably had the best ever main course, meat and pork, the latter of Spanish origin. As dessert we had a symphony of ice and the cheese table, the latter being the best in Denmark in my view.

I hosted my 40th birthday at Restaurant Marinaen, at is was an event that I, my friends and my family will never forget!! The food, the entertainment, the service, the level of attention from the owner (Morten), the dancing, etc. - everything was perfect, and so well organized, down to the smallest detail by Morten and his team!! I warmly recommend this place to anyone, be it for a quiet dinner, or for a larger party of up to 80 people!!

What can I say, the food served is traditional Danish dishes, with an above average price tag, but with a good quality and such big portions, that value for money is excellent!. Don't order more than 1 item from the menu, that being the starter or the main course, you will not be able to eat it.Surprisingly, they do have a quite extensive wine assortment.

At Restaurant Admiralen in Kolding, we serve Fresh Fish / Seafood and Juicy Steaks. See you in the restaurant. Regards John & Gitte
The restaurant has a very classic style and an original location in the city. We took the mussels to share as starter, then the sole and the plaice with local sauces. It was good but not exceptional... the problem is it was very pricy for the quality of the dish (110⬠for 1 starter, 2 dishes, no wine) But,the service was good and the waitress was very nice and helpful. Maybe a bit slow, but we weren't not in a hurry so that was fine for us.Thank you very much for the your visit og review.Best regardsJohn og Gitte

Madkaelderen Koldinghus is located at the Danish royal castle, Koldinghus, in the town of Kolding. Enjoy a completely unique dining experience in the ancient vaulted dungeons. Our menu is a modern interpretation of classic Danish dishes cooked and prepare
Very happy to have found this spot for a really nice experience and surprisingly good food. As mentioned by others, everything is homemade and there is a great variety of different well known dishes. We already booked for the evening arrangement, even though we live in North Jutland.Looking forward to that!

Very hospitable and we enjoyed the meal. You can sit inside or in a covered outside area. It is in the centre of town, so easy to access and between the church and castle
