This cafe is right by the ferry terminal, and serves great food at reasonable cost. The cafe closes at 18:30.
Thuro kro summer cafe and restaurant cold drinks on the terrace and summer menu including seafood and fish

We went there because family members from the area had recommended this restaurant to us, so much so in fact that they accompanied us to it so that we could have lunch together. Three of us had fish, I had meat. I was moderately satisfied, the fish eaters decidedly negative. The fish was half cold and not very tasty. The service was bad, slow and rustic, not to say rude. It also took ages to get coffee afterwards. The bill was much too high for the quality offered. We went to a café the day after and had something very similar served to us for less than half the price paid at Hotel Troense. Admittedly, the café did not have a view, but a pretty view is not enough. Our advice is this: Enjoy the view from the outside. Do not enter. It is a highly overrated place. The place sells itself as a first rate establishment, but if you want to belong to that category you cannot afford missteps like the one we experienced on a quiet day with few guests.Kære Niels EJeg takker for din anmeldelse, og er da ked af at vi ikke har levet op til dine forventninger.

If you want a taste of original jomfruhummer (lobster) then Carlsens Hotel is a great place to visit - they also makes a great "Stjerneskud"

Visiting here for lunch we were satisfied with the kind service we had from the staff, the food was average - not very tasty but "OK "compared to price, and better than the average level at more Læsoe restaurants. Many restaurants were closed for the season and Havnebakken was relatively well booked. They made a great espresso. The real stuff! Great location at a hill in front of the harbour.

After our trip to Strandgaarden Badehotel at Pentecost 2011 we came back to celebrate New Year's Eve 2011 on Laesø. Lars and Morten, the two chiefs of Strandgaarden Badehotel, did a magnificent job. We had a ten course menu on Dec. 31st - and every course was absolutely perfect:1. course: Snack i stuerne2. course: Ãsters3. course: Jomfruhummer - aeble - kartoffel4. course: Pighvar - peberrod - petersille5. course: Kammusling - porre - nødder6. course: "Laesø løg"7. course: Torsk - rødbede - hollandaise8. course: Kalv - sellerie - foie gras9. course: "CitronmÃ¥ne"10. course: Chokolade - chokolade - chokoladeYou find pictures of the whole menu on Strandgaarden Badehotel's Facebook site under www.facebook.com/Strandgaarden. The quality of the pictures is less than 50% of the real look and less than 10% of the real taste - it was another great experience. Thank's to Ole Lund and his chiefs Lars and Morten. You really did a great job!

Vesterø on the northern Danish island Læsø is, of all places, the place for one of the most exiting new restaurants in Denmark.Opened late summer 2017 on Vesterø havn, Vesterøl is the first building you meet leaving the ferry. It is run in a partnership between a chef and a sommelier and presents a new and creative take on bringing cutting edge international culinary creativity together with the local top class foods and with a selection of great and some organic wines. And as the name inplies the sommellier also has a selection of exiting beers on offer. The restaurant has limited indoor seating and is mainly open during the season. My guess is that getting a table during the summer 2018 when yachts fill the port will be hard and reservation is highly recommended.Only one daily menu is served - and thank you for that. It means that the daily serving has received the full care and thought to ensure consistent high standard. In December our menu included 7 dishes, each presenting a new take on traditional Danish and Norwegian foods. Below I quote the menu as it was presented to us in Danish (my English is inadequate for a proper translation ;)The guide Michelin originally gave stars based on whether a restaurant was worth driving to. Vesterøl is by itself reason to go to Læsø, so how should restaurants that are worth sailing or flying to be rated?Ãbleskive fyldt med en løg/ventreche kompot og friteret i en hvede-tempura dej.
