They were supposed to stop serving the lunch menu at 1 pm, but although we arrived at ten minutes past, the very friendly staff nevertheless agreed to let us choose from it. The 'luxury platter' was wonderful, with a huge array of tasty food, beautifully presented and exceptional value. We needed a hearty stroll to the castle and back to walk it off! We would not hesitate to return.

This historical and traditional inn ("kro") from 1604 is definitely worth a visit - very good food, not "budget" prices, but not extremely expensive either. Recommended!

We stopped here for an evening meal whilst passign through Christiansfeld. The food was delicious, we both had the tapas, and the service was first rate. There is an English menu available as well as Danish or German. We only had soft drinks but this gastropub does a range of alcoholic beverages too. The evening we ate there was plenty of space to sit and no need to reserve. Would recommend.

The sommelier seems to think that every white wine should taste like Gruner Veltliner!! It totally spoilt my wine menu as even a Spanish white wine and an Alsace Riesling tasted like Veltliner which is about the only flavour of white wine I detest! So I ended up with only water in my glass (costing 450 kr.!!)

An excellent restaurant, beautifully appointed, just a couple of miles away from the historic town of Christianfeld. The hotel/restaurant is 350 years old but has been sympathetically and elegantly renovated, with the best of quality - even the bathrooms reflect this! The food was outstanding - excellent local ingredients, beautifully cooked and presented. Service was superb and the house wine, a Sancerre, delicious and good value. This is an outstanding restaurant and the hotel rooms look gorgeous and comfortable.
