Ben Hiang offers very simple and delicious comfort Hokkein food. They are very well known to the old Hokkein community in Singapore.
The stir fried Hokkein noodles, oyster cake, fried prawn roll and layered pork with steam bun are some of their signature dishes - not to be missed.
The prices are very affordable too.

Spent Valentine’s Day at Fratini. The restaurant has no menu and you can expect to have 10-15 courses. The appetisers of warm and cold varieties were good. The wagyu steak served was amazing and by far the best dish of the night. We had the...MoreThank you for your review! Glad you enjoyed your Valentines Day at Fratini's. Since we are nearby west coast park, so decided to give this little cafe a try since we miss it last time. It is located in quite a distance from Clementi MRT station. The food served is fast even though there are quite some crowd inside. While waiting for our food, the cafe have some nice little prop for us to take photo with. We have ordered har cheong gai chicken wing, truffles fries, carborana and sharperd pie. The food came in quite a big portion and taste delicious except for the chicken wing. The price is in expensive and we enjoy ourselves, i do see a lot of people bring their dogs and sit at the outside of the cafe. Highly recommended to try.

It’s surprising to see how this place is still able to garner such a crowd after so long. Was glad that I made a reservation as the queue was really long when my friends and I arrived. The downside was that there was a minimum spending of $10 per person due to the reservation. So think twice if you want to skip the queue by making a reservation.

i have dined at this restaurant several times, and i must say their food and service are always consistently. food has the same taste, service still needs more improvement. no smiles, especially the staff from the kitchen wearing black who serves the food. she looks very fierce with her tattooed eyebrows. anyway, it is quite difficult to communicate with them if you don't know how to speak mandarin. my limited mandarin skills are always challenged. and what's up with not giving out serviettes? even if i asked for it, it never came.

Wanted to eat at Marche for the longest time but there was always a line. Today, it was less crowded so we walked in and definitely walked out happy too.
We ordered Tonight Special of Savoury Crepe - - Pulled Beef with Capsicum Spread ($16.90) and the Hawaii Pizza ($18.90). Both dishes were full of flavours and huge! Service was prompt from all the wait staff and impeccable from the lady of Myanmar origin who served us. It was a shame I didn't get her name.

My filial daughter suggested early Mother's Day celebration at a restaurant at JEM. I knew my daughter likes Chinese cuisine. She has brought us to Paradise Dynasty, Crystal Jade, Wah Lok and a number of Chinese restaurants and I wondered this time which Chinese restaurant she was going to bring us to.
True enough, she brought us to another Chinese restaurant Din Tai Fung at JEM. As it was Vesak Day, a public holiday, there was a long queue. While in the queue, I browsed through the background of this Chinese restaurant.
It was founded by someone from Shanxi who migrated to Taiwan. He was just a deliveryman when he started working. His boss liked his work attitude and promoted him to be the supervisor for his oil stores. Unfortunately, business was bad and it subsequently wind up and he became jobless. He decided to start his business in compressed oil Delivery and named his company after his first boss's name out of gratitude towards him. But his business also did not turn up well.
Instead, during his leisure hours, he liked to make dumplings to serve his friends, employees and neighbours and they all found his dumplings superbly delicious and tasty. They advised him to embark on selling his dumplings. He decided to use part of his shop space to sell dumplings and there goes his success story. His dumplings became so famous that Eva airlines served his dumplings on board their planes.
The moral of the success story is that there is always a strength in everyone of us. Some may be good academically but those who are not should not be disheartened. Like the founder of Din Tai Fung who discovered his gem in dumplings.
Break Talk Singapore franchised and brought Din Tai Fung into Singapore. It was a good business decision. From the long queue on most weekends, I think it meets the taste buds of most Chinese Singaporeans.
I found the dumplings and the food appetizing and awesome, the staff service was good.

Having moved to Clementi not too long ago, my only lament was why I hadn't discovered Nobiro earlier. I had earlier passed by this place numerous times but had not went in to patronise before, as it looked rather unassuming beside several other small shops....MoreHi Peixian! We are happy to know that you and your family have enjoyed dining at Nobiro. The team will continue to do its best to serve good and affordable dishes to all our customers. Thank you and we hope to see you again!:)

A casual French Bistro with a Thai twist at your doorstep in Clementi for a relaxed meal with family and friends, without burning a hole in your pocket!
After we had an enjoyable lunch at a restaurant helmed by chef Francois Mermilliod, my friend chanced upon a newspaper article about this bistro with connection to the said chef.
I decided to check it out with my husband. The first visit, I chose braised beef cheek In red wine as the bistro's specialities are beef dishes. The beef cheeks were slow cooked to tenderness served on a bed of mashed potatoes and a portion of ratatouille, all flavourful and rich. My husband opted for the French classic dish of duck confit served with sauteed potatoes and beans. Both dishes were nicely cooked by chef Eric.
We chose a bottle of French red which although quaffable was slightly lightweight. To round off our dinner, we shared a dessert of profiteroles with chocolate sauce and toasted almonds and strawberries. The dessert was a satisfying end to a nice meal so much so we visited two weeks later. Dinner for two persons was slightly over $150 including the usual taxes.
On the second visit, we decided to push the boat out. For our appetizer, we shared a portion of duck rillettes served with rocket leaves. We enjoyed the rillettes spread on the rustic French bread. For our main course, we ordered the Wagyu cote de boeuf (beef rib) costing $150 per kg. Chef Eric informed us that sometimes he would have smaller ones like 700g or 800g but that night he only had the 1kg pieces. We asked for the meat to be cooked "à point” medium rare which was just right. It was flavourful and tender although my husband felt it was a tad greasy. Accompanying this dish were nicely cooked French fries and salad. We were too full to order dessert.
This time we brought our own wine. We had the option to pay corkage fee of $30++ or order a bottle from the restaurant and not have to pay corkage. We chose the former and our total bill for dinner came to $226 including service charge and taxes.
For sure we will be back to try other dishes (and of course the dessert).
