A local Malaysian Chinese food with Seafood specialities . An Informal low budget cafe with Chinese and English language menus.
I donât know about the other good reviews on this restaurant.. as you know sometimes , itâs interested parties who logged in to put those âgoodâ reviews . My reviews are based on facts and actual experience that they canât refute . My family went for dinner today June 15th , arrive at 7pm and waited till 8.30 pm for first dish to arrive . And we ordered only simple dish like tofu , lala soup , vege and fuyong egg. Nobody came to apologise and they told me 20 mins. Ended up 1.5 hours . Potential customers : you decide for yourself ...

First time visit this restaurant. They offered variety of dishes. Fried rice, sate, porridge, wantan mee, tandori chicken, naan bread and many more. Tried thier tandori chicken, naan bread, lamb kima and wantan mee. The tandori chicken was juicy and tasty. The naan bread was very fluffy and soft. They use charcoal fire to cook them. No wonder the aroma was wonderfull. Lamb kima was also tasty. Not to forget wantan mee. The noodle cooked just nice and served with flavouful brooth and has a hint of garlic oil.
Daddy Village is a renowned nyonya restaurant in Batu Pahat for the past 20+ years. We came here on 31/8, it was very crowded. They are not just good with nyonya food but also western and local delicacies. We ordered an American Breakfast, Penang Prawn Noodles, and Nasi Lemak Special. The sunny side-up on top of the toast looks very tempting, the toast has some butter spread and it was toast to perfection. If they could use Ayamas sausages (with black pepper/cheese/mushroom) that would be perfect. Prawn Noodles has 3 big fresh prawns unlike the ones I had in KL which they had to cut the prawn into slices. The stock has very similar taste with the prawn noodles I had in Penang. Awesome! Then I have to talk about their Nasi Lemak Special, the hard boiled egg is cut nicely like a flower. The sambal is tasty I could have eat the rice and sambal on its own! They cook the rice with Butterfly Pea Flower so half of it looked blueish. Redang Chicken is another highlight, drumstick is tender and savoury. We also could smell Sambal Petai dishes from other tables. Next visit we are going to try the nyonya dishes out!We ordered two coffee and a teh tarik. Both are great. Teh tarik is very smooth. And coffee comes with sugar and milk you can add to your preference.Daddy Village do not have service charge but they provide very good service. Waiter and waitress are very polite and attentive even when their business is good.To the Muslim readers, it is a Halal restaurant so come on by!
The speciality there is asam pedas(sour and spicy). You could choose between red fish head, fillet, tail or stingray. The rojak also was very tasty. For MYR47, I ate 1 red fish heah and sting ray asam pedas, 1 omelette, 1 rojak, 1 beansprouts, 1 salted egg, 1 sambal belacan with cucumber, and 1 glass of ice lemon tea. But they only provide benh and tables.
The captain who took our order was really informative and recommended some suitable dishes for our group of very young to the very old (4 to 82 years old). Especially recommended is the braised longevity noodles and the treasure pot. Their trademark tofu was also delicious and special. Even though they were very busy that night (3 wedding dinner reception, we were informed of the correct time to expect the food and it was worth the wait.Highly recommended for good Chinese food

Wow good ambience and seafood dinner. I attended a grand 108 table wedding dinner held there. Good food and very big restaurant. Beautiful stage and lightings. Classic of Malaysian standard in a town. Service was good. Car parking insufficient.

Kway Zhap is one of the best Teo Chew dishes. Soon Lai has preserve the great taste over the years. It is one of the food that all the Batu Pahatian who are working or studying in other states ought to have when they come home. There are wide varieties of dishes you may choose, from intestines, pork, blood, braised tofu, braised egg, tofu skin, century egg, bak-kwa, to chicken feet, peanuts, etc. You may also choose to go with rice or kway-zhap, a similar steam rice sheet that cut into bigger pieces than kway-teow that soak in the broth. Always full house, do go early like 11am or expect an hour waiting to be served.

It is slightly more expensive than the usual ones from the hawker and kopitiam, and frankly there are much better ones. The noodles is not springy enough, and the cha xiu is dry and tough. The portion is also on the small side. This would be last time I visit.
