Within walking distance of the Holiday Inn in Johnstown, Sam's seems to be a long-established restaurant. Sam has his staff well trained, but they seem to be having a good time in their job.
The margarita was good, not too strong. I had read the portions were LARGE so I ordered two appetizers and couldn't get through them. My husband had the seafood canneloni and really enjoyed it. And the fresh bread before the meal....so good!
Glad we chose Sams!

Udderly used to be the place to go for ice cream. Not anymore. The girls working there are rude and impatient. The prices have gone up and the portions sizes have got smaller. Ice cream tastes fine but there are other places to go that are more reasonably priced and have just as good if not better ice cream.

I am visiting the Southern Adirondacks, and stopped in to get a cup of coffee and doughnut. The place is immaculate and the servers are very friendly and courteous. The doughnut was very fresh, as if it were made just a few minutes ago. Keep up the good work, because you are the best DD around.

We were staying at the Microtel Inn & Suites down the street and asked the lady at the desk to recommend a good restaurant for dinner. Her recommendation was Romana's Italian Kitchen. This was our first time there and both the food and the service were excellent. I had the chicken Parm and it was so big that I couldn't finish it. Everything from the bread to the dessert was great. We couldn't have asked for a better server. She was right there whenever we needed anything. She was polite, friendly and professional. We were staying in Johnstown for two nights and after our first dinner at Romana's we went back again the second night. I thought the prices were very reasonable. Its too bad that we live 5 hours away because this could have been our go to restaurant. I highly recommend.

Building dates from the 1700ds very old. Some original details have been saved. Family operated. It has a dining room and a bar section. Very inviting friendly staff, flexible with adapting to your individual wishes. Wine list is not very adventures, wines by the glass and full bar Interior changes with the season. Good menu with daily changing specials. I would call the style, european with a french twist. Catering is possible Have had dinner in this restaurant several times, never been disappointed so far. With not much choice in Johnstown this place is amust to try... Prices are some what high end, however very reasonable for what is served, portions are big.
Went with a group of friends on a Tuesday night, which this month happens to be German food! Food and service excellent as restaurant was very busy! Reservations a must!!
Portions very large and excellent! Enjoyed the German dishes-chicken and veal schnitzel along with knockwurst! Entrees served with red cabbage and Tatar tots!
Entrees priced reasonably well and drinks always abundant in size!
Can't wait till next week as new month starts!
Great value here with fine food!

The family style breakfasts are great! All the staples...eggs, pancakes, etc. And of course maple syrup!! The dinners are equally as plentiful and delicious. The chicken masala was probably one of the best I've had. Reservations are not required but are a good idea if you don't want to wait. Little gift shop has cute things and edible gifts and it's reasonably priced. Good place to bring a family.

Two of us came for breakfast and between us had eggs, pancakes, hash browns, and bacon. All was excellent. Topped off with very friendly staff and reasonable prices, I highly recommend this restaurant. I no longer live in the area but will definitely come back next time I'm up here.
We, of course, read the lunch menu and that looked every bit as good. We actually stayed chatting so long that we were still there while they started setting up for lunch and the soup smelled so good, we considered staying!

This is not elegant dining but one of the best burgers and beers we've ever had. Service was excellent. Awesome beer choices. We are beer snobs and love a great IPA.

This Applebee's offers what you expect: excellent food at excellent prices. The selection of drinks is very good and the staff very friendly. Even though busy on Friday evening, the service is reasonably fast. The place can be very busy and you may have to wait for a table, but it's worth the wait. Alternatively, one can usually find a seat at the bar.

A family group enjoyed a very good Sunday morning breakfast here today. We selected from all the favorite morning meals items and no one left a crumb. The owners were very gracious and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were within reason. Truly a fine eatery with a decor that is pleasing and provides a relaxing atmosphere.
