We had pancakes (special pecan, carmel, banana, choc chip) and they were delicious. Also tried the biscuits and gravy which I like very much. There was a lot of choices, and I would like to try many others. Long lines, but they moved quickly. Seating inside and outside. Pictures of dogs everywhere! Very neat.

My daughter and I were in Charleston close to my birthday so we drove to the bakeshop. We were not disappointed. unique flavors. Liked the pistachio, blueberry, coconut, chocolate, lemon. Each was different, beautifully decorated. Simple box with their logo in green and white. We ate in their little courtyard. It was somewhat awkward as there are no tables but we were provided real plates and silverware. Service was timely and courteous. Will re-visit when we are back in the area.

Complemented by signature desserts, an extensive wine list, a vibrant bar and innovative, rich decor true to old-world steakhouses, Halls Chophouse is the latest restaurant offering in the heart of Charleston's Upper King Street design and dining district. A traditional American steakhouse with superior service and a knowledgeable staff, Halls Chophouse offers a classic and comfortable dining experience that will entice our guests to visit and enjoy time after time. We offer 2 private dining rooms for groups of up to 32 guests each with audio visual capabilities.
Frank Sinatra had around 15 restaurants within the United States that he frequently went to for dinner. I have been to 3 of them including Gibsons Steakhouse. It has a lot of similarity to Halls Chophouse in Charleston, S.C. At Halls Chophouse, you are greeted by very friendly staff members. They have 2 floors of dining which gives you options. I started with their Caesar salad, and my wife had their chopped salad. We each had their prime filet mignon which was broiled to perfection. I had their loaded mashed potatoes which were the best I have ever had, and my wife had their parmesian truffle french fries, which she told me she had never had before, and they were excellent. They have a variety of sauces for your steak to choose from. We shared a dish of sautéed mushrooms, again the best. Their service does not get better. I also had a glass of Jack Daniels with some ice cubes and a splash of water. (Sinatras favorite drink). I can see why it is one of the 10 best steak houses in the United States as seen in Trip Advisor

Bringing a hint of rustic Italy to Johns Island, Wild Olive focuses on simple and comforting Italian fare with ingredients sourced from the Lowcountry’s choice farmers and growers.
Repeat visit of 5 for dinner. Adequate parking, very pleasant ambiance. Two main rooms separated by the bar. Service was very good with our server being friendly and menu knowledgeable. Our meals were all excellent and included steaks, chicken parm, penne pasta, calamari, and 2 desserts, tiramisu and chocolate sticky cake. Highly recommend. Reservations a must especially on the weekend. Hope this helps.

King Street-Charleston's main artery of restaurants, bars, and boutiques-is home to our first scoop shop in South Carolina. Located in the heart of "Upper King" (the section of King Street north of Calhoun Street) in the Cannonborough neighborhood, our shop is in great company with many renowned restaurants, including The Ordinary seafood hall and oyster bar, Indaco (the fabulous rustic Italian spot), and The Macintosh (a recent James Beard Award nominee for best new restaurant and best chef). The pedestrian-friendly area is also home to many independently-owned bars, bakeries, and shops, and you'll find our shop right between two neighbors we know you'll also want to visit during your trip to this historic and progressive coastal city: Charleston Distillery and Stars Roof Top & Grill Room.
The flavors I got I did love ❤️ the Milk Chocolate and BROWN BUTTER ALMOND BRITTLE PINT (the best flavor), but the scoop size was very small for a $6+ cone! I will go back and probably get the bowl to see if the scoops are bigger.

The Charleston Grill offers Contemporary Lowcountry cuisine featuring fresh local produce, seafood & game, prepared with a French accent. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the ingredients, unique presentations & sophisticated textures. Local ingredients include rabbit, oysters, crabmeat, shrimp, fish, duck, greens & grains. Paneled walls, herringbone floors, softly padded carver chairs & local folk art blend with live jazz to create an elegant, but casual setting. The private Vintner's Room features walls of glass-fronted wine cellars showcasing the impressive stock of vintages from around the world.
We were wonderfully surprised by our anniversary dinner at the Charleston Grill. It is an elegant, but not stuffy or pretentious restaurant. It is a very spacious, light, inviting, wood-paneled place. It is not noisy, (they do have a piano, etc. after 7:30PM), and one does not look into a distracting kitchen. Diners are not rushed. The service is great - especially Andrew and Nellie who waited on us. A sport coat and tie are ideal. A button-down shirt is fine. Blue jeans would seem-out of -place. It is more expensive than some of the restaurants, but it is particularly great for a special occasion. Since it is popular, one should make reservations in advance.
We have been to many of the restaurants in Charleston, including Husk and SNOB. Our dinner, and evening, at Charleston Grill was the best we have ever had in Charleston, and every item did not contain pork or bacon, and there was no attitude. We had their now in-season soft-shell crab appetizer, which was superb! Our entree was sturgeon, which was excellent. We were glad that we asked for the sauce on the side, since the sturgeon did not need anything else on it. (The entree menu is limited, so one might want to check it out on-line first to be sure the items sound good.) (Since it is a restaurant in the South, we asked that everything be low salt.)
Our Tanqueray martini was good and seemed not absurdly- priced at $13.50. Some of the glasses of wine can be much higher.
All the recommendations we were given were excellent.
Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful evening!

Chef Fred Neuville is excited to embark on his first solo venture. "With Fat Hen, I am striving to create a neighborhood restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and signature French-inspired Southern cuisine," he says. "Johns Island is a fast-growing area and I believe island residents - along with others from around Charleston - will appreciate what we have to offer." Fat Hen's main dishes center around innovative French classics with Low country flourishes, sourced from the finest local produce farmers. The Braised Chicken features locally raised free-range chicken braised in red wine with rich bacon lardons, root vegetables & mushrooms. Fat Hen's Short Rib, a favorite signature dish among family and friends, is braised for hours in a rich veal broth.
We went to a family dinner at Fat Hen in November. The place was packed, and rightfully so. They had a wide choice of specials which were excellent. We had escargots, mussels, tartar, lamb shanks, fish. All of those were great, and we all were scraping the plates even though the servings were quite generous. Their bread deserves a special mentioning, it is to die for. The wine selection was good. The service could not be better. Thank you for an excellent evening!

The story of Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier is, above all else, a story of love. A story that, at its core, is about one man's love for sharing his creations with others and his dedication to his French origins. Christophe Paume is the rarest of artisans, a third-generation French chocolatier, who grew up in his father's patisserie in Toulouse, France. Alongside his father, he learned to create exquisite French pastry, the highest quality chocolates, succulent gelato, and every type of bread imaginable. After attending the CFA de Muret, Christophe moved to Paris and worked at Entremet de France, refining his hand-painted, one-of-a-kind creations of dark, white, and milk chocolate ganache and chocolate truffles. For the next ten years, he continued to work in the family business and traveled to Montreal to work at Patisserie de Gascogne. He also achieved his Brevet de Maitrise, Master in Pastry. While it was his passion for fine chocolate that brought him to the United States, it was love that kept him here. In 2009, he married Carly, and they moved to Charleston SC and formed Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier.
I tried several of the beautiful chocolates and two pastries while staying at the Renaissance hotel. All were quite delicious and almost too beautiful to eat! The staff were always kind and helpful.

Green Curry Mac and Cheese for me, Butternut Squash Ravioli for my wife who is more sensitive to spice. Both dishes very good. Atmosphere is more bar than restaurant but food is delicious

The Stono Market and Tomato Shed cafe has a lot to offer under one roof. Gift shop with lots of locally crafted items. Groceries and fresh locally grown organic produce, take 'n' bake dinners and fresh baked goods. The Cafe offers Lunch Monday-Saturday 11:00 - 2:30 and dinner Thursday-Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Good is good ole southern fare with good portions and unique flavor. Service was excellent and friendly but this place gets busy...be careful to time it right. One of the few small spaces who know how to accommodate the mobility challenged and greet and treat...MoreFay, it feels good to get a pat on the back from you. Thanks for the lovely review; we hope to see you again!
