Johannesburg is the place to go to mix big-city culture, shopping, dining and nightlife with outdoor adventures, up-close wildlife encounters and visits to historical sites. Explore caves and nature reserves, or visit a traditional village by day, then enjoy dinner at a hip cafe or five-star restaurant. And if you're a shopper, bring an extra, empty suitcase. With malls, open-air markets and places that blend the two, you'll find plenty of unique souvenirs.

Houghton Place is situated in the leafy suburb of Houghton Estate and offers excellent guest house accommodation near the Rosebank business and shopping precinct and is a 10 minute walk from the Rosebank Gautrain Station (underground) If its peace and quiet, home comforts, attention to detail and discreet and caring personal service you want, then you have come to the right place. Here you can unwind by the pool at the end of day taking in a Highveld sunset, or relax on our patio with a glass of chilled wine enjoying the heady evening garden scents. With Sam & Jan living on site there is somebody on call 24/7. Delicious full cooked, health, and continental breakfasts are served at your convenience in the dining area which opens out onto the front garden and pool in summer and is warm and 'toasty' with a fire in winter. Staying with us is a life-style choice

8 Ibis Lane Guest House is located near Monte Casino, Fourways, Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa, The major business and entertaining centre in Johannesburg. It is merely 3km to Fourways Shopping Mall, Pineslope Shopping mall and Cedar Square shopping mall etc..., 2km walking distance to Monte Casino. It is located in a boomed area, alarm system and 24 hours armed response on premises.
Spent two nights initially and later a further three. Excellent accommodation with aircon, fridge, microwave, DsTv, and an ensuite bathroom. The breakfast on the patio by the pool was always excellent and Gary, the host, most attentive and obliging. It is perfectly situated in Fourways, in a guarded, gated community. It really was home from home for us (we're in our late 70's), and if we find ourselves in Jo'burg again, (from Cape Town), we'll certainly be staying here.

Spent 3 nights while attending a course nearby. What a pleasure to find peace and tranquility in the middle of Johannesburg! Marian, Lee, Margaret and Maryline went out of their way to ensure my comfort and I felt very at home. Beautiful well-appointed room with views of the garden, delicious breakfasts and a simple tasty dinner on the one night I stayed in. Easy access to nearby restaurants. Highly recommended.

Unsafe place, terrible hotel. Theres no AC, cold shower only, the blankets smelling like a bathroom , the staff unprepared and about the neighborhood I will prefer don’t talk about that. Was definitely the poorest hotel that I’ve been in all life, hold on!!! I paid for 2 nights and I spent 40 minutes in the room. They also don’t have any computer, I paid for the wifi. Disgusting!!! .

As a missionary, I stayed in many hotels in South Africa and around the world but this one actually must be reported to relevant authorities in South Africa. First, I was given sheets with a hole... I actually took pictures of them. And When I complained AGAIN about the dirty sheets I was given, the owner told me that the room I was given cost R12 000 a Month and it was given to me at R5 000. So he told me to take it or leave it and that I wasn’t going to get a refund I was requesting. So the Owner further said he was going to blackmail me to other hotel owners around Johannesburg. He said during This Coronavirus season is only 20 Hotels that are opened and that HE is on touch and communicating with those hotels. So obviously he must lie to those hotels about me. He said he will have fun doing it. When he said that I replied that I was going to have fun too. I have an email from Booking.com that I replied to, they asked that I should write a review about my stay here... the Owner told me that he read it... to everyone reading this.... I ask you to read the reviews that are written about this place. Please go to Booking.com. I have more to say, but I will submit my complaint to relevant authorities. I want this owner to start respecting people. And to know that as a Business owner, as Customers we respect him but don’t fear him. I’m not afraid of wicked people. I want to teach him that you cannot insult and threaten a Customer. He cannot undermine people.... Giving people dirty sheets in a hotel.... are they trying to give us the virus? This man thinks I have no brains... I actually want to stand with him in the court of law and sue him...

Outstanding place - I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The property and room is beautifully appointed, perfectly clean, and cared for lovingly. It felt like a home away from home, with the "Je ne sai pas" that a wonderful vacation location carries. There is great attention to detail... like a platter of homemade cookies. If you are looking for a safe and above-average lodge in Johannesburg, look no further. You will be welcomed and cared for :) Thanks for a great visit.
