I just love the food here. My favorite dish is this chicken stewed dish. There is a chain of these restaurants throughout the city. Just this listing isn't very clear as there is one at Fuzimiao and one in shuipingfang. Some of the popular sites can get busy and there can be quite a wait. If you go early like 5-5:30 you should be okay. If you have a large group, you can reserve. The set-up is like old china style seats. Then you take your table number card and walk around the restaurant. The foods you like, you just tell the server you want that food. They will write it down and it'll go to your table. Most of it is small dishes, so you can try lots of different foods. You can also just order if you don't want to walk around. This is a good place to start if you want to try a lot of traditional tastes. Like the chinese meatball.

They have servers dressed in Chinese style outfits and sometimes, they have Chinese folk singing. I enjoy the food which is generally tasty and flavourful though a tad on the oily side, which is the norm in China. Prices are affordable. There are several branches countrywide so you can have it outside of Nanjing but I guess there is a charm to have it where it's named. :D

The best part of the ingredients were used in the preparations. We ordered the house specialty - salted duck. It was succulent and flavorful. We also ordered in small serving size 2 cold dishes, dumplings, noodles in fish soup, tofu sheets in hot sauce, braised pork belly, a vegetable and the glutinous rice ball dessert. The server was concerned we over ordered for just the two of us. She suggested to half the small order for the 3 cold dishes. It was a great suggestion. We were able to try a few dishes without having much leftover. We were served the cold dishes first, followed by the hot dishes, then the dumplings and noodles with the dessert last. Every dish was exquisitely prepared. We were absolutely delighted with such a fine meal. The price per person was about US $ 50.00. It was a good value considering a tasting menu for 9 courses would be much higher in the US.

Good hotel but as a Accor Platinum member having stayed in several Sofitel, this is slightly off my expectations. Service was slow at check-in and when I flashed my Accor Platinum card, I was asked to join the normal queue instead. I was upgraded to a nice suite with welcome basket. Bed is of Sofitel standards and breakfast at Sofitel Club lounge was probably the best but service was slow. I tried the duck blood vermicelli which was quite well done. As the hotel is not located next to Metro, it would take a 15-20min walk so not recommended if you have luggage, probably better to hail a cab. Concierge service was average.
We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. The location on the map isn't very accurate as it is down an alleyway. I ordered salty duck, beef and chilli and mince buns. The food came quickly, was tasty and in a decent portion, it was also quite cheap at 130 Yuan in total for this meal plus drinks. The only downside is that the staff didn't speak any English and that the chefs and other people smoked at the tables, dropping their cigarette butts on the floor. It was good but a little hard to find, I would recommend only if you're nearby or want a truly local experience.
Wan Li offers a modern, yet authentic Chinese dining experience in either the spacious dining room or any of 18 private dining rooms with personal service. The restaurant decor offers and elegant environment for business or social entertaining. The menu s
The restaurant is located at the Renaissance Nanjing Olympic Centre Hotel.Common design. Good service.Surprisingly, in the restaurant, almost no one spoke English. Is well, that was a translator with us.However, all the dishes were delicious. The wine list is more than modest.

This restaurant has an chinese ancient market style decoration, it is very interesting and beautiful. Waiters are dressed accordingly to the old chinese style and there are small food stalls all around with traditional local dishes. Tables and chairs are a bit uncomfortable and staff cant really speak english which makes ordering a bit awkward if your chinese is not good. Food wasn't very good either, i found all the dishes very greasy and not really freshly cooked. So i will recommended just for a snack and a sneak peak at the decor but definitely not if you want to have a good dinner.

This place has great wooden "cubbies" where your party can dine in relative privacy, Chinese-style archways, and lots of paper lanterns. The service and food are mostly just okay, but I let my colleague order, so perhaps I could have found better choices. He said this is a chain and not that special of a place to eat. It's in a mall, so that could be, but the atmosphere is great.
