The Carriage House Bed and Breakfast

Welcome to the Carriage House Bed and Breakfast! The Carriage House offers attentive service, great food, and and all the comforts of home in an open friendly atmosphere with plenty of room to relax around the property. Whether you want quiet time to read a book on the wrap around porch or join in conversation with other guests at the firepit with a complimentary wine/beverage of choice or just chat with Jessi about the B&B and maybe get a recipe or two… The Carriage House is the place to visit. It does not matter if you are coming for a family getaway, business meeting or a romantic retreat, our seven cozy rooms on the main property and gourmet breakfast will make this a vacation worth remembering. The historically themed rooms, each with private baths, are dressed in restored antique furnishings with handmade quilts on the beds. We also manage other adjacent properties through our property management company JMPB properties; two standalone cottages, two bedrooms inside the circa 1850’s house we call the “Sam Houston” house. We now have three more rooms to the JMPB property management family. It is an Art gallery themed property with the Van Gogh room, Picasso room, and the Gustav room collectively named the “The Gallery B&B” located in the heart of Jefferson’s Historic District 4-blocks from the Carriage House.

During our trip in Texas, we made a reservation to stay in Jefferson at the Carriage House. During our travel my husband sustained an injury and we had cancel reservations in several places. The cancelation at the Carriage House was handling very professionally. I appreciated the way it was handled. Thank you for being so gracious. Rebecca Thompson

This hotel is terrible. The room smells, bugs on ceiling and bugs. Location was good. However I will sleep in my car the next time. They need to close and or remodel. This place is very disappointing and nasty.

A step back in history

This is a great place to stay. We were in the Magnolia Room and loved the way it was decorated. It very much looked as Jefferson did in its prime as a River port due to the Great Red River Raft that changed the course of the Red River prior to the Civil War. The hosts were readily available and provided water, coffee and fresh cookies on our late arrival. The breakfast was attractively prepared and served while also being very tasty. Our hosts visited with us as we ate which is one of the reasons we enjoy b-n-b’s. We will definitely stay here again.

Downtown Historic Jefferson Hotel KAHN - No Ghost visited during my stay

For all of you paranormal investigators, your welcome to give it a try, it has some great history, including documented murders on the property dating back to its former glory of a brothel and saloon days, nicely renovated, rooms clean and spacious, if you cannot carry your bag up two flights of stairs then this room is not for you. Did not hear a ghost during my stay, but a few local pub patrons staggering down the hall at 2AM was entertaining at best, with historic hard wood plank flooring its hard to conceal noise, including the wheel bag suitcase that came rolling by at 0500 the next morning. Great location, walking distance to everything in town that you will enjoy doing. Just be well enough to handle the stairs is all I am saying.

Worst hotel that I have ever stayed in.

Reviewed By leasM9202QK

Having been a flight attendant for 35 years, I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This was by far the worst. When we checked in, our friends were told that they received a discount but we didn’t because they booked by phone and we booked on line. When we entered our 1st room, #305, the smell was horrible. It was a combination of mold and cigars. On the window sill sat a glass with tobacco, spit, and an old cigar. We went back to the front desk. Next, we went to #314. The smell was worse than the one before and the bed linens were filthy. Finally we checked in to #308. The fluorescent light in the bathroom flashed nonstop but we thought that was the least of our worries. We went to the gas station across the street and bought a can of Lysol to help with the smell. About 1:00 am, the train that is across the street nearly rattled us out of bed. It was so loud that it scared the crap out of us. When we woke up, my husband spotted 2 cockroaches crawling around the room. We checked out of the hotel and told the gentleman at the front desk but not a word was said to us. Attached is a picture of the lobby of the hotel. No breakfast, no coffee, no nothing. The health department needs to shut this place down!

Great stay

Kennedy Manor is a fantastic BnB in Jefferson, a quaint town in East Texas. You step back in time with your surroundings but have all the comforts of the modern world. We stayed in Patty’s Room and loved our coffee (from the well stocked coffee bar) each morning on our balcony. Tracey’s breakfast each morning was amazing and plentiful. It was usually a delicious fruit dish followed by the main course such as egg dishes with meat or specialized french toast. It was all served family style so you could visit with other guests. Tommy does a history tour of the town by golf cart. It is very informative and well worth it. In short, if you find yourself in Jefferson, don’t hesitate to book Kennedy Manor. Enjoy all the history and creature comforts you could want. Tommy and Tracey will see to it that your stay is phenomenal.
