The Modern Snack Bar will be closed for the season from December 10 till April 17. <br>Located in the heart of North Fork Wine Country, the Modern Snack Bar has been the place to go for Great Home Cooking since 1950. Featuring Roast LI Duck, Sauerbraten, Prime Rib, Fresh Flounder, Soft Shell Crabs, and cool Lobster Salad. Enjoy Draft Beer, Local Wine, or a Classic Cocktail with your meal. Great Salads, Sandwiches, and Burgers too. Famous for their Mashed Turnips and Lemon Meringue Pie. Bring the Whole Family!
This place is from the 50s and I can honestly say they have done no renovations since the 50s..we were warmly greeted..we had the chicken salad sandwiches with coleslaw..nothing special but not bad..my mother in law took a piece of lemon meringue pie home and said it was very good..not a place I need to visit often but probably will return one day.

By far the best pies on Long Island. A huge selection of pies and also a farm stand in the front. The place also has local jams and all that Mason jar stuff. Must try if in the area.

Open Seven Days a Week Year Round. Located directly next to the Hyatt Place East End Hotel and Atlantis Long Island Aquarium! Just minutes from Tanger Outlets and a short drive to the Hamptons or LI wine country. Arrive by car or by boat using one of Jerry's complimentary docking slips!
We come out to Riverhead often and always stay at the Hyatt next door. This is absolutely our favorite restaurant here for several reasons. First the food is fresh and delicious. Try the mussels in either sauce, the panko flounder, waffle fries, and most definitely the peanut butter chocolate pie.
Also the service is spectacular. We’ve been here many times over the past 8 years and have always been blown away by Chef Jerry and his staff. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews here. They go out of their way to please the customer. We had a minor issue with a dish and we were offered a million ways to rectify the problem.
We love this place so much we once came here for lunch, dinner, and lunch again on a weekend vacation!

We were quickly seated on a Sunday evening with a party of seven. The atmosphere is rustic but the menu was extensive with great choices of staples and specials. Dined on clam chowder, burgers, stuffed chicken breast and marinated steak. Everything was fresh, hot and plentiful. Great service also. Enjoy!

Stopped by looking for decorative St. Patrick's Day cookies. They had none, baked none. Instead purchased Irish Soda Bread with seeds. Dry and tasteless. Order some assorted breakfast buns and cakes. Left with a $80 bill. Prices are not posted on food. So be sure to ask. Third time there, I always give an establishment three strikes. Would never go back or recommend.

Spicing up the Long Island waterfont, RUMBA is a special dining spot serving up a unique combination of Island-inspired food, premium handcrafted rum libations, happy staffers, reggae + a low-key vibe…all on the Shinnecock Bay (accessible by boat).
We stopped here while on our way home from Birding and everything was outstanding. We would definitely return. Very friendly staff, delicious food and drinks - what more can you want! Tacos were outstanding and loved that you could try different ones. Shrimp and fish were excellent as were the plantains and the coconut Risotto - unique coconut dish. The only thing that was a bit weird was in the menu it says you can “buy the staff a round” if you’re happy with the service.... do they really want drunk staff? Lol

Open 7 Days for Breakfast & Lunch Dinner Service Friday - Monday Nights Seasonal Outdoor Seating. Fall & Winter: Monday Night Burger Night $15 Special
My husband and I stopped in here for lunch early on a Saturday. As usual, this location was busy. We were seated immediately but it did take a bit of of while till our order was taken. I had a salad with chicken, avocado & mango with a lime dressing. My husband had steak and frites. They were both delicious. The garlic fries were so tasty! Excellent lunch. Only issue when we first walked in, although we were seated right away it was a bit too long before someone came to our table.

The Jamesport Manor Inn prepares New American Cuisine. Expertly prepared, each dish is infused with excitement, sophistication and pure artistry.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the JAMESPORT Manor Inn . we did make a reservation on line.
Our table was next to a window with lovely view. My husband enjoyed the oysters on half shell, and a perfect lamb dish for main course , which came with green beans , potato fingers. I had a tasty fillet mignon with whipped potatoes and green beans , all delicious. We couldn't miss desert, crème brulee and I had 3 scoops of special flavors gelato, yum. we look forward to our next visit. Just one little note.
The four people at table next to us were loud and we heard all about the vacation etc. Maybe I should have asked for another table since most tables were empty at 5pm.

We have been here countless times. They make wild and interesting flavors. If I'm having ice cream it has to be homemade. I get the kiddie size and am very satisfied. My husband always needs at least a large!! If you like ice cream, be sure not to drive past!!!

Hallock Cider Mill may have the best crumb cake we've ever tried, and the pies are clearly the closest to true home-made that we've had on the entire North Fork!
For 30 years we have past this place, stopping at a variety of the farm stands. While most of the vegetables are locally grown at mostly these stands, sometimes the prepared foods are not always "home-made". But The Hallock pies and cakes really represented the best in home-made baked goods.
This will become a must stop got us going forward.
