We recently headed down to Fortinos for an early dinner. The restaurant is located across the lagoon from Barra de Navidad in the small town of Colimilla. A short water taxi ride will bring you right to their door.I ordered the coconut shrimp which were quite large and were tasty. My husband had the crab which he enjoyed. If you want a nice afternoon outing a trip over to Colimilla is in order.
The place is definitely a local gathering hole, I came in lost having lost my way, ordered a beer, and was more than a bit frazzled. The staff was incredibly warm and helpful, and the atmosphere is definitely charming and homey.

At Restaurant Nachos quality, nutritive and delicious meals are cooked altogether with a friendly ambiance as well as an excellent service at a fair price, our guests can be sure that they will be satisfied. Our especialty in grilled fish ( mahi-mahi or r
Battered shrimp was over cooked and hard to eat . The battered Marlin was over cooked as well, so the edge of the serving was not edible. I have not been served shrimp with the skins on for a long time. When garlic shrimps are cooked with the skins on there is no flavour to them. The location was nice but the food leaves a lot to be desired.
Split a personal pizza and 12 lemon chicken wings with my spouse...had to get a doggy bag for the trip home. The pizza (once again) was terrific....crust was just right.Lemon chicken wings were delicious.Pleasant service by young guys who were trying hard. Our friends raved about the burger...big enough for two.

We stopped in a Ava's, now called Jack and Ava's) for our first try, for lunch. The server Grice (sp?) was pleasant. The room/building is comfortale, with a high palapa roof with several fans keeping the air moving. We started with guacamole, which was okay, but the chips served with it were very greasy. I had vegetarian quesadillas - which was again very greasy. I must thank them for making these as they are not a regular menu item. My wife had the tortilla soup - sopa de azteca. The soup includes ribbons of tortilla - again these were greasy. Other than this the soup was okay - topped with the usual suspects - avocado and sour cream. Jack and Ana's is okay if you are in the neighborhood but you may want to ask the server to ask the chef to go easy on the oil.

Never being treated like that in my life.Very irespectfull Owner. I have been in the hotel and restaurant business for 30 years and never seen that before. What you wrote in the Q&A section more fully describes your complaint. "Hi, the owner of that restaurant has been very rude and bully with my husband and i yesterday(he is 71 years old and wanted only to go to the bathroom). We will never go back again. Nasty person" In responce I wrote "Your experiance was real and from your perspective. I am not a door mat and will not be used as one. Our bathrooms, in our house are not for the public. Only for customers, people we invite in and take pride in caring for. There is plenty of signage to the fact. We gladly make exceptions based on kindness and respect. When we are ignored and treated rudely we do take exception. As was our perspective in your case. Thanks" Aaron

Bigotes has great food and great service. We're treated like family every time we visit. The prices are very reasonable. They're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just stop by for a snack and an ice cold beer. Beautiful view of the sunset too!
