Reviews on International food in Portofino, Italy. One of the most popular resort towns on the Italian Riviera, little Portofino has just over 500 permanent residents. But that all changes on summer days when the sun is shining and the yachting set drops anchor in the harbor to wander about. Boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants line the tiny streets. Diving, hiking and beach-going are popular local pastimes, and there are even some historic sights like the Church of St. Martin (Divo Martino) and the Castello Brown hilltop fortress.

Sabot Italia is an American bar in the heart of Santa Margherita Ligure since 1992, a wine bar with a wide range of fine wines.
Sabot serves excellent aperitivi from 5-9pm - generous portions of salami, cheese, olives, bread sticks and ham, all complementary with drinks in the evening. We'd just been in Portofino where the prices are so outrageous that we were thrilled to find Sabot serving equivalent drinks for less than half the price. The waiter was very friendly and refilled our food platter without asking. Great music there too.

Le Cupole Restaurant is located on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Bristol in Rapallo Italy. Great food, unforgattable view, "money for value" place. We are on Alain Ducasse Carnet Gourmand.
We booked this restaurant to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary while on holiday in Italy. We specifically booked this one as it has a tasting menu, something we always look out for.The Hotel (Bristol) is just outside the main area of Rapello some 10 minute walk. The restaurant itself is on the top floor with outside seating which as views go is ok, nothing special.Sadly the food was very much the same, out of the 7 courses, there was only one that stood out as very good, the rest were forgettable, either because they really weren't very good or the presentation was "slopped on a plate"Certainly somewhere I wouldn't rush back to.Dear Guest, thank you for your review and cid sorry to read that you did not perceive the quality you expected. Sometimes the dishes are specially prepared in the way you define "cut" ... Sincerely

All the reviewers (and our airb&b host) said we had to go here and have the prawns with their secret sauce--so we did, and it is incredible. Didn't even need the prawns--dipping bread in the remnants was just as good--but the prawns were first-rate as well. Don't know how it's made--butter, olive oil, garlic, something citrus-y, a little hot pepper, what else?--but really unique. Don't miss it.

I was here already few times and I do reconfirm my great appreciation for the food and the environment. Enjoy the chef recommendation based on fresh fish availability (such as raw prawns and shrimps). Tagliolini with Bottarga and raw egg yolk are really tasty and delicious.Staff and the owner are attentive and friendly.
