Discover Restaurants offering the best European food in Porto Venere, Italy. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was a favorite of Byron, Shelley and D.H. Lawrence. (In fact, if you don’t mind a few rocks, you can swim at one of Byron’s favorite spots, now dubbed Byron’s Cove.) Portovenere’s San Pietro Church was built on the remains of a 6th-century church, which was itself built atop an ancient Roman temple to Venus. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in lines on the pretty bay, or daytrip to the Cinqueterre.

Food was great, it was maybe even amazing! Service was a let down to the chefs in the kitchen, the patrons inside, and the owner. They served our steak and burgers without the side orders or even the wine (had to repeatedly ask for a glass of wine), who wants to eat potatoes after a steak?? they didnât bother to clean away the plates....they forgot our dessert with the set menu and when I asked him he didnât believe me and had to go and âcheckâ....10 mins later he arrived to say the dessert options at which point we left! Guy at the door asked if everything was good, it wasnât, he put his head down and asked for the pin. Avoid unless you donât mind poor service. Would have given 1 but I felt for the chefs.

Every aspect of this meal was exquisite, possibly our best dinner in the nearly 3 weeks we traveled throughout Italy! All of the food was fresh and beautifully presented. Some of the dishes we had were the fresh octopus appetizer, an entrée with grilled fish and vegetables, and wonderfully prepared pasta. The owner was extremely friendly and and gave us several different olive oil's and vinegars to try. He even sent us home with a bottle of his family's delicious red wine vinegar! Even though we didn't order dessert, they brought us a plate of fresh watermelon to share. The ambience was very art deco with interesting art on the walls and Pleasant music. The Italian wine was great there too. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Cinque Terre/La Spezia area!

I'm not vegan, not even vegetarian, but I tagged along with my cousin to this all-vegan restaurant in La Spezia. Well. I should have known that once Italians tried their hands at vegan cooking, they'd knock it out of the park. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with real attention to translating local culinary specialities into vegan versions. The service was attentive and friendly and helpful. If you get a table outside on a hot evening, it's a quiet little lane. They serve alcohol but unlike many Italian restaurants they'll had an interesting offer for non-alcoholic soft drink, again, a local speciality using the slightly bitter Italian orange. I'll attach a photo so you know what to ask for. Also, there were gluten free options, none of which seemed any less delicious.

Excellent service by the person in charge. Got just one portion first course and one portion second course to share with my partner and was served 2 portions of the first course. Upon checking, realised that they have plated it evenly into 2 half portions knowing that we are sharing it rather than serving just one big plate of it. Was pleasantly surprised that the service went to this 5 star standard. Thumbs up!!! Oh yes of course the food was impeccable as well. Would definitely come back to this restaurant the next time.

We were able to get a ferry from La Spezia to Porto Venere and happened to be up at the tower at lunch time. What a treat this was! My husband ordered the seafood platter and it was just amazing. It had lobster, langostines, shrimp, etc. It was so good it attracted their local resident, Steven Seagull! I enjoyed my first taste of trofie with pesto. It was delicious. Service was excellent and the view is spectacular. Even their cappucino was special. If you ever get to Porto Venere, this place is the place to go.

A small charming gourmet restaurant, on the hillside, few minutes away from La Spezia and the Cinque Terre. Panoramic terrace and winter garden.
Beautiful location for a meal and Andrea is an imaginative chef who does honour to high quality ingredients. There are several menus as well as a la carte, a good winelist, and attentive service. Eating dinner as the dayliht recedes and the night lights switch on around the gulf makes for a truly magical experience. Lots of dishes have a hint of sweetness which I like and the portion sizes are perfect. Stay overnight though - the road up is a bit scarey!

Nice view over the bay and friendly staff. Good local seafood. We booked through quandoo but they didn't have our reservation and we had to sit inside instead of outside so you need to phone to confirm.

I have travelled Italy many times but this is the most shocking experience I had. The owner insulted us because we didnt speak english. It took 30mns for the owner to provide the bill. I wouldnt recommend the place to anybody. Portovenere is wonderful but this restaurant is the worst in Italy. No kidding
