Liguria, or the Italian Riviera, boasts a bounty of beaches and resort towns, such as tiny but tony Portofino and stylish Rapallo. Hiking trails lead from Portofino to the villages of Cinque Terre. The Riviera of the Setting Sun runs north from Genoa to the French border. Connected by an extensive rail network, most towns make easy daytrips from one another. Genoa is the region's principal city and is home to attractions from its famous Cathedral and the Palazzo Reale to an excellent aquarium.

Spent our last night in Cinque Terre here enjoying some local wine and nibbles. The capers were delicious! Lovely bar and great setting - highly recommend. We then crossed over the square to Da Eraldo for dinner which was excellent (but worth booking ahead!).

Half way between Portofino and Cinque Terre it's worth to stop by in Sestri Levante and go for lunch or dinner at Ristorante Ai Castelli surrounded by a private green park. The Panorama on baia del silenzio it's amazing, the restaurant staff excellent and the food simply awesome. It's a pleasure to taste the plate of raw fish and shellfish combined to seasonal fruit or any plate they recommend. It's hard to choose. The wish is to try all menu. The wine list, more then 300 labels, it's extraordinary. A place not to miss.

I was visiting Altare because my family came from this little town of glassblowers. This restaurant was recommended by a cousin that had visited town a few years ago. We were not disappointed! We had an excellent lunch, everything fresh and tasty. Our waiter spoke perfect Spanish, so he could explain every dish in perfect detail. And our surprise was even greater when he said he was born in our own country, Uruguay!!
If the main dishes were good, the desserts were exceptional. I had the best chocolate volcano ever!!!
Congratulations, hope you have many years of good work ahead of you!

Casa Doc Pochi Tavoli Ambiente elegante ,ma a conduzione famigliare. Aperto tutto l'anno .Prenotazione obbligatoria. In estate il servizio si sposta all'esterno ,ma il numero dei coperti rimane invariato perché viene chiusa la sala interna.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation, great service! Nice selection of wine. Very good chef who is mainly using organic ingredients. Very nice atmosphere, definitely want to come back :)

My wife and I were wandering through the narrow streets of this mountain town and quietly despairing that we were in the wrong place when needing a meal... How wrong we were, we followed this superb smell in the air to a quiet corner where we found a small building that was seemingly closed up but we wandered in anyway, and had a fantastic welcome from Umberto and Alessandra the owners of this brilliant little restaurant of which we were completely unaware
We were ushered in to a private dining room uniquely decorated and in good English were told what was available for that day - without going in to great detail, we enjoyed a gastronomic journey, And discovered several unique dishes not the least of which was the Torino cheese sourced from Umberto's friend in the village, soaked for two days in local white wine and gently pan fried. This was followed by Ravioli filled with fish and garnished with anchovies, Potato Gnocchi made with a special hazelnut flour, chicken with a beautiful Moscato sauce and Caponata Calabria, all polished off delightfully with a bottle of Marchese Umberto deal Carrello Barbera red...
Wow what a memory this will be for us!!!! Make sure you plan a visit !!!

Sushi Beach, a sushi restaurant with mediterranean freshly caught fish. We use only fish that comes from our sea, purple head prawns and fresh oysters. During summer we serve our guests on the Terrace between the swiiming pool and the beach. During winter we move into the Food & Design dining rooms of A Spurcacciun-a restaurant, inside Mare Hotel complex.

Hands down the absolute best Cheese Focaccia I have ever had! My 5 Star rating is for them being one of the best "Focacceria" I've ever eaten at.
Not a huge selection, but what they've got is delicious. I love the old classic feel of this place. Not even close to fancy, but this place just gives you that feeling that they've been here forever, not because of their selection, or because of some amazing business smarts by the owners, but simply because make THE BEST CHEESE FOCACCIA IN RECCO!

Dasso is the most amazing place...but to think that this upscale, modern, sleek pasta shop is in the middle of an old, small town....well, that is mind blowing! The pasta is handmade daily and the clerks are most helpful with how to prepare and suggestions for the right sauce to accompany the pasta. Do NOT miss this if you visit Lavagna!
