We ate here about 2pm on a sunny afternoon. The best seating is round the side by the sports court. Service was friendly and we had calamari and cevapici (little sausages) with chips which was lovely but could easily have shared chips rather than one each. Decent value, a short walk out of town but recommended for an easy no frills casual lunch.

Finding this hidden gem is the hardest part of eating here. A very small, quiet, beautiful restaurant; a konoba ("tavern" is not a good English translation; "one-off nook" might be better) with a very intimate, family feel. The views from the terrace are stunning, and the offerings indoors do not disappoint, either. Dinner menu is robust, but not overwhelming; service is timely and attentive. Lamb chops, grilled octopus, clams, were all worth the trip up the mountain. Reservations definitely required; come early for the best choice of seating. If you are reading this, and are on the Croatian Riviera, plan to make the drive to this mountaintop wonder, for a lovely evening of food, drink, and beauty.

This quite old fashioned (good old times!) restaurant serves only catch of the day what makes sure you get fresh & local authentic sea food, prepared classic style without pretensions, but very tasty and delicious. One can sit at the small terrace or inside, both nice. We had prefered inside, for the street goes directly in front of the terrace uphill. Parking easy on the other side of the street.Pleasant soft chilly background music and cultivated interior ambience with nice illumination made our dinner very relaxed. Maybe isn't an appropriate place for families & backpackers. Don't show up underdressed. There is no real menu card for they have only catch of the day, but the skilly waiter offers individual ways of preparation or size of portions. One can mix plates and try a little bit from everything! This is quite unique. White house wine is very good so one don't need really to buy bottles.Desert was delicious too! Home made ice cream with roasted almonds and warm red berries jam. At the end they honoured us with a digestiv on house. But best of all is the perfect & friendly service. For the Croats are good sport fighters but don't have in their essence really talent to serve a client, I would say, as an old & experienced restaurant visitor: one of best services at entire Croatia.Only big minus: the bread. Sliced baguette from the factory, dry & cheap. Nowadays one can buy very good bakery products even at discounters or deep frozen for in house finish, so there is no excuse for that lapse.A little Amuse-Gueule after the seating of the guests would increase the impression of a perfect service too.If you have to count any penny of your holiday budget, better ask in advance the prices of your dishes in order to avoid friction at the end when the bill will be presented. It's upper class dining, but worth any kuna. The relation between price & quality is absolutely fine.I can recommend this great sea food restaurant very warmly to any gourmet. It's even worth an extra drive from your Croatia trip.We will be back for sure!

This restaurant has amazing views over the Adriatic and Cres Island. The restaurant sits about 500 feet above sea level. Food, featuring seafood was good and there were several local wines to choose from. Service was accommodating. Only detractor were the nearby smokers on the terrace and some bugs. Still, if you are nearby near sunset, donât miss it.

Over 40 years of long-lasting family business - fishing - has been upgraded to the next level: cooking and serving great and fresh food in tavern "Zijavica". A team of young chefs take traditional ingredients to meet challenging approach of modern cuisine
I was with my family on July 15th. For the first time in the area, I've visited TripAdvisor (which has always helped us!) and we stopped in the best rated restaurant ...Food is not in the ratings, and the menu is not very diversified. Also very expensive. I recommend another restaurant, a few steps ahead, Gimi. Very clean, good food at a reasonable price.

you don't get a meal which you can expect to be served in konoba - for example wiener schnitzel, other than that the food is ok.
