After a long day of ski, we ended up in Olimpia restaurant, the place we knew from last year's ski in Wisla. Again, the restaurant didn't disappoint. Informal atmosphere, warm and cozy interior and great food. Service is ok, though could be bit more spontaneous and service oriented. We ate the Oscypek, tatar, chicken salad and spicy deil fingers. All came in generous portions and was very tasty. When asking for the bill, you won't get a heart attack.
Summarizing: a friendly and warm mountain restaurant for a perfect meal. Highly recommended.

The service was unacceptable. No "hello", or "welcome" or any kind of greeting was offered as we arrived. We seated ourselves and waited a few minutes before the menus were brought to the table.
The man who took our order seemed truly bothered by our questions regarding food. Wrong drink was brought, sides were missing. We have heard from the table behind us about their order mistakes as well. Other guests seated at the surrounding tables were treated with the same coldness as we were.
The food came out after about 30 minutes. No one has stopped by in the meantime. We had to ask for more beverages as the glasses have been standing empty for about 20 minutes.
The food was good - no complaints about the meat, sauces or the sides.
Again, no one came back to check on us or to offer dessert. We decided to go to the bar and ask for the bill. That same man who served our table was pouring drinks at the bar and was bothered again. He offered no smile, no concern, nor did he ask if we liked the food. We left feeling as unwanted intruders. Will not return.

I read couple of reviews questioning this restaurant, but what can I say,.. after couple of tests in other restaurants in Wisła we've ended up in the Izba and came back for next three days.
OK, it is priced higher than the other ones in Wisła, sometimes you may wait longer for your food, but the queues speak for themselves. You need to book ahead in busy periods.
Funny thing - two of our bills were mistaken to our favor (of course we clarified it).
Food is exactly what you expect - local, abundant and really good. Interior in highlanders' style - just what you need in Wisła.

Working from a 19th century log storage hut, this is a place for true regional eating. Most of us chose local trout. We also had a pretty good local nalewka - Porterowka, a home made, dark beer based liqueur. Very enjoyable!

This restaurant is an absolute must. The wooden building is the prettiest traditional chalet straight out of a folklore tale, the food is mouthwatering, and the service friendly and courteous - and the price is very reasonable indeed.
Probably the best meal out I´ve had in a very long time. I can´t wait to go back.

Having opportunity to visit Wisla, together with better half, we decided to check local restaurants - base on TripAdvisor opinions. Additionally we found, some place that participate in "Kuchenne rewolucje" tv show - it was "Malinówka". We got there for our first dinner in Wisła - traditionally we took dumplings for our youngest one and some meats for us - Kassler by Magda Gessler and pork tenderloin. Food was as we wanted - simple, good composed and really tasty. We ate everything and even had a small space for dessert - "linzer torte", really it was worth. Just to mentioned, that we returned especially for that dessert 2 days later (ok, for dumplings as well - our youngsest ate full portion). Really - it's a place worth visiting, I hope that we return there in close future.

Decided to try this place because the more popular Ochodzita further up the village has become too busy and the service is always very slow as well as the quality of food not being particularly great. I have to say that kopertolka was a nice surprise. It was completely empty when we went inside so the service was excellent, and the food was very tasty. Prices were also very reasonable for the area. Don't expect a fine dining experience of course, but for what it was, excellent home cooked meals and comfortable atmosphere, I can't fault it.

We went for a day trip to Istebna and decided to try this restaurant for lunch given the 17 X 5* reviews on Tripadvisor. Well that was a mistake, for sure ( I have since checked Google reviews where you will find reviews similar to my one).
So the restaurant is beautiful inside. Decorated in Polish "mountain" style, clean and bright with all staff in traditional Polish dress. The restaurant was half full. Our order was taken and drinks were served with some bread and smalec( lard with bacon spread) and then we waited...and waited...and waited.
It was 1 hour before our soups (1 hour for soup?!) arrived. The waitress did not once come over to apologize. My husband's garlic soup did not taste of garlic, only cheese. My zurek soup was OK, nothing special.
My salmon main course had too much dill and tasted old. My husbands golonko (pork knuckle) was so hard that he could not cut through the meat.
It seems that the waitress had accidentally given our soup to another table, even though our mains were ready, so they put the mains back in the oven while they prepared more soup for us. We were next to the kitchen so my husband overheard the shouting.
However, please note that all of the other diners we saw also had to wait around an hour for their food to be served.
We were a family with two yery young children, so after waiting one hour for what was already a late lunch, we were already extremely fed up.
We had wanted a quick lunch so we could go for a walk and enjoy the autumn Sunshine but it took us two hours to get out of this nightmare restaurant by which time the sun was gone.
Unfortunately the story does not end there. One hour later both my son and my husband had terrible diarrhoea. They only thing that they both ate but not me or my daughter was the "garlic" soup.
Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!!
I am assuming the the 17 X 5* reviews on Tripadvisor were written by friends and family of the owner!

Jedzenie ok nawet smaczne ale bez "porywu" ,proste domowe jedzenie, same kotlety itd nic regionalnego... Duzo pozycji w menu nie dostępnych, ceny ok, obsluga tez. Zwykly zajazd jesli ktos ma ochote na domowego kotleta to polecam :) dla tych co szukaja czegos innego raczej nie.
