Located in Jaffa Gate square in the Old City in Versavee Building,it is a renovated architectural masterpiece of old world charm with clean, modern amenities. There are options for indoor or outdoor dining. The menu features local Mediterranean cuisine wh
We enjoyed relaxing and dining outside the restaurant in one of those charming little corners in the Christian quarter of ancient Jerusalem. This restaurant has been in the family for generations and all of those who served us were kind and sincerely interested in our having a good meal and a pleasant time. The lamb skewers were well prepared, if you like well done, and were tasty and tender. We recommend this as a hidden find. We enjoyed our lunch.

In Jerusalem Old City from New Gate down
Near the top of the Via Dolorosa, in the Christian quarter. Vaulted stone room with a non-tourist feel. Wide ranging menu for all tastes with Middle Eastern but also western dishes. Well presented, high-quality simple ingredients with marvellous flavours. Everything delicious. Wine list and bar. Well worth eating here.

We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews. The restaurant was very crowded, very noisy, we had to ask the waitress several times to lower the music volume. The seating is not really comfortable, meaning that for the price we paid, I would expect more.We were a large group so we did order quite a large part of the menu. As to the food, some members of our group liked their food and some were truly disappointed. Therefore my review is written with mixed feelings. Maybe one should not come over the weekend? I personally ate in better restaurants in Jerusalem for less.

The best restaurant in Jerusalem, maintains its high standard for many years. The food is at the highest level there is.Especially recommend the entrecote steak, the dish of meat in wine, and fillet. The last courses are excellent, and since this is a meat restaurant, the last courses are furs, but it does not fall from the last-desserts in the non-kosher restaurants. The staff is wonderful, friendly and professional and knows the menu well, knows how to recommend good to undecided. The place is very clean, including the services, and is decorated to a very high standard, a luxurious and special atmosphere.

Shanty, a Jerusalem staple since 1992. We continue to serve delicious fresh food with a friendly, homey atmosphere
This restaurant was located next to our accommodation and in an area of almost exclusively kosher eateries, this one suited my OH who fancied some seafood. Our server was friendly and very apologetic when they got a request wrong but soon sorted it out. The food was tasty and well cooked.
