Bordered by pristine beaches and a network of marsh creeks, the barrier island of Isle of Palms has been a vacation spot since the late 19th century when it was only accessible by ferry. In 1929, a bridge was built, which opened up the island to more than just local residents. Today, it’s the island’s great fishing, beaches and golf that provide a few of the magnets for visitors. With a laid-back, easy going, resort lifestyle, the most popular fashion statement is flip-flops and a t-shirt. Isle of Palms is a great place to gear down from a hectic lifestyle. The magnificent stretch of beach on Isle of Palms is both photogenic and fun. Once you’ve done your obligatory sunbathing and beachcombing at the Isle of Palms County Park Beach, head to nearby Charleston, a 30-minute drive away, which has historic sites, landmarks, shopping districts, golf courses and family attractions like The South Carolina Aquarium and Fountain Walk, a new dining, entertainment and shopping complex nearby. For golfers, the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms features two 18-hole courses designed by Tom Fazio and there are several more excellent layouts on the mainland, including Patriots Point and Charleston National Country Club.

Acme Lowcountry Kitchen specializes in local seafood, if we cannot source it locally it is sourced off the East Coast of the USA! We do not serve seafood from any other area. We of course never serve any imported seafood. We truly believe in supporting American Fishermen and Shrimpers!
We took a party of five there for lunch. I got the Lowcountry Shrimp and Grits. Very good but almost too much for lunch. My wife got a spinach salad with grilled Salmon that she said was tasty. Others got Fried Flounder sandwiches that were good as well. Service was good, too.

For all the euphoric flavors you can't get enough of - especially the ones you can't get in ordinary stores - nobody scoops Ben & Jerry's better than we do at our scoop shops.
Yummy waffle cones, 2 dips for $7. Limited flavor selection but with the favorite classics. Very limited seating.

First how can't you love the name. My reviews focus on gluten free dining options. Upon contacting this restaurant via email to inquire about gluten free options, I received a prompt and helpful reply from the General Manager Jonathan. I was informed they have gluten free pasta, which is what we had hoped. We visited the location based on the reply and enjoyed delicious gluten free penne in a fennel and sausage ragu. Other members of my family enjoyed pizza and my young son had GF penne with a marinara sauce and pulled chicken (they made this upon request without being obstinate). The real star of this restaurant looks like small plates and various seafood options (many being gluten free). Our first visit was a teaser so I am longing to go back.

A little delight in a shopping complex. Wonderful French pasteries, meringues, crepes, tartines, quiches, panini and salads. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Better than you will find in France and no plane ticket required. Welcoming counter service. Reasonable pricing. Great for singles, couples, friends, and families. Easy access and parking. Made fresh daily. Menu and hours online. Get some to go also. Special coffees available. Great for meal or coffee break. Clean and fresh.
Very large selection of French pastry. Croissants are perfect. Soups every day. French style sandwiches on home made baguettes. Wines are served plus other French beverages. Crepes and salads along with omelette selections. Owners are friendly and accommodating.

Stopped in after dinner elsewhere and got gelato and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The Key Lime gelato was very good, as was the salted caramel. A nice way to end the evening.

Family owned coffee shop serving locally roasted coffee, small baked goods and croissant sandwiches.
We were visiting IOP and stumbled upon Cafe Paname. What a great cafe. The owner/chef is French and everything is home made. We chose the egg, bacon and cheese on a croissant which was delicious! The croissant was as if we were in Paris. Excellent coffee as well. The owner and his wife were extremely nice and welcoming. They also serve beer and wine along with sandwiches. I highly recommend this cafe.

We serve the freshest seafood 7 days a week. Opened in 1986, locally owned and operated. lunch and dinner, Sunday brunch
Wonderful service, excellent drinks, delicious, fresh seafood, and a great menu make this place much better than the average strip-mall place. We loved every morsel! Try the Shrimp & Grits for a real treat. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was so good, but I wish I hadn't had so much of it because I couldn't finish my entree - good sized portions, remember to pace yourself!

Great little breakfast place. Lots of cute little tables, great service, and great food!! Everything from the egg, cheese and bacon biscuit to the French toast is delicious. Quick friendly service with reasonable prices for a beach town. Off season so not much of a wait but definitely worth it. Easy to walk to and close to the beach. Give it a try.

We visited in early afternoon before the dinner crowd hit. This bar and grill type establishment was rather loud and cramped quarters. The BBQ was good and the service we received was excellent. It is my opinion that this is more of a bar than grill, but nonetheless the food was good, just not exactly what I expected.
