Senglea (Maltese: L-Isla [ˈlɪslɐ]), also known by its title Città Invicta (or Civitas Invicta), is a fortified city in the South Eastern Region of Malta. It is one of the Three Cities in the Grand Harbour area, the other two being Cospicua and Vittoriosa, and has a population of slightly below three thousand people. The city's title Città Invicta was given because it managed to resist the Ottoman invasion at the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. The name is Senglea since the Grand Master who built it, Claude de la Sengle, gave this city a part of his name.

We visited twice. Excellent home cooking with formal, friendly service in an stunning location. The waiting staff were lovely. You will probably need to book. We liked the terrace which had fabulous views of the harbour. Extensive menu and good choice of specials - good wine list too. Not to be missed. Very good seafood, loved the calamari, fish, steak and lamb. Great desserts too (baba al rhum). The terrace tables here have a spectacular view over the harbour and it would be worth sitting here whatever the food was like. it is worth booking to get one of the best tables. The food is also very good making the whole experience one of the best of our stay in Valletta.Dear customer,Thank you for your review and kind words. This restaurant on the whole offers great food however disappoints from the attitude of the staff!Because they didn't have local wine to serve and only offered European or wine from other countries, they took offence!They food served was of a good quality and cooked well, the delivery of the food.... well... sort out your waiters. Needless to say I will not return. Which is a shame!

This place came highly recommended and its decor is very fancy. I was really expecting an exceptional dinner but was disappointed. Maybe I ordered the wrong items but both my sauteed rabbit liver and seafood platter were sadly over-cooked. We visit this restaurant very frequently, cause everything here is very genuine.Such a quiet small place with a very good portion of food. The staff there they are all very friendly and helpful. As a main we took spaghetti Lobster which was out of this world! Obviously the most important thing overall is the food which was heavenly tasteful. Everything is so freshly prepared and the quality of food is 10 plus! The prices are very reasonable and affordable. I highly recommend this restaurant to all out there , its a big must to visit in Valletta.

This was not my first time here and they never disappointThe food is typical of Malta- there is a lot of it! Here at Browns they make it delicious whether it spaghetti, salmon, veal or rib eye.Would highly recommend Browns and the Waterfront is a tremendous location

My wife and I had just arrived in Malta after a long day of travel from NYC. We were looking for a good meal near our hotel and were pleased with the high ratings of this nearby eatery. Had it not been for the high ratings, we would have never eaten here - tiny place, no other dinners, horrible atmosphere. Reassured by the other ratings we dove in - mistake!! The owner chef and his wife (the only server) were friendly enough. The food was ordinary to poor. I had the seafood pasta. A generous mountain of pasta with no appreciable sauce and sparse amount of seafood. The mussels were tiny and did not taste right. My wife had the mushroom ravioli - the sauce was plentiful but the excess salt spoiled the taste. We shared a brochetta while waiting for our mains - tasty enough but served on a piece of plain bread not the customary baguette. As if the ambiance was not bad enough, there was a delivery of lobster right in the middle of our dinner. The box was plopped down right next as the chef move the lobster into the salt water tank in the front of the restaurant. Somewhat surprised about the disparity between the rating and our dining experience I went back to carefully look at the reviews. Many of the 5 star rating were from individuals with only 1 or 2 reviews and/or residents of Malta. Evidently the chef has lots of friends on Malta that over inflated the ratings. This is one case where you trust your instincts NOT Tripadviser.Gentilissimo cliente....probabilmente era Molto stanco del viaggio a tal punto di non aver notato Che quelli Che lei chiama server non erano 2 ma bensi 4 ma comunque a prescindere dalla sua insoddisfazione personale per il nostro team e per la location tengo a precisare Che dopo 40anni di experience come chef la bruschetta non si fa certamente con la baguette,noi usiamo del pane Saraceno Che esalta il nostro olio extra vergine , ciliegino pachino e mozzarella di BUFALA molto gradito dai nostri clientiPultroppo Devo contraddirla anche sulla linguina allo scoglio....noi non usiamo salsa di pomodoro Che copre i sapori dei frutti di mare ma usiamo ciliegino pachino fresco Inoltre mi spiace per la sua affermaziione nell'offendere tutti I nostri recensori insinuando Che sono di basso livello e nostri amiciLa invito a rileggere le recensioni quando sara' piu riposato e non avra' allucinazioni anche con le lobsters

Delicious food served by charming staff humble chef checking we enjoyed it just a fabulous experience We had rabbit liver in a port sauce it was outstanding followed by lobster with pasta which was just phenomenal my companion had ravioli with beef and ricotta and was equally impressed Totally necessary to book I did by email and they were very efficient in confirming my reservation a fabulous start to our holiday thank you lovely people at Beati Paoli
