Reviews on Mediterranean food in Saint Julian's, Island of Malta, Malta. Saint Julian's is a popular vacation spot on the coast of Malta. The small town successfully blends its fishing village charm with its tourist center. Latin architecture, such as Spinola Palace, built in 1688, and the Old Parish Church are popular historical sites. Divers will enjoy exploring shipwrecks via the Divewise Center. The renovated Paceville district, a former military haunt in the 1930s, is now the hub of Saint Julian's nightlife with an array of restaurants, bars, and clubs.

It's a small and cute cafe with friendly staff. I had salmon and avocado on rye bread and it was very tasty. The portion was rather big. Would recommend this place.

Caviar & Bull is the brainchild of Maltese celebrity chef and gastro-ambassador Marvin Gauci. With an exciting menu that fuses colour, texture, scent and taste, Caviar & Bull is one of the most sought-after gastro hotspots of the country.
Pricey but tasty though nothing extra-ordinary, this venue is architecturally faulted to a level that you cannot hear your own thoughts let alone person next to you. Management should recognize this, respext clients amd invest in some easy and not too expensive aolutions.Dear GeminiSoul,Thank you for taking your time to write a review and glad to hear that you found our food tasty, although nothing extra-ordinary (sic). Sorry to hear that the restaurant was noisy when you visited us. You have to kindly consider that Caviar&Bull is a popular restaurant catering for different occasions and celebrations, so it might tend to get bustling and happy at times. It is really not our aim to silent our guests since most of them are coming to enjoy themselves and have a good time.I assume this happened on a busy weekend when our restaurant is reaching the maximum capacity.Sorry again we didn't meet your expectations but if you would give us another chance in the future,we recommend, you visit us on one of the weekdays, when the vibe is smoother or Sunday lunch when it's very relaxing. We honestly hope that we can have the possibility to change your mind about us.Best regards,

We were in St Julian's Bay for just 1 week and wanted to try many of the top rated restaurants. We ate at Maltese Mama, Storie @ Sapori, Biancos, 1927, Wigiâs Kitchen, Le Majoliche and here. The good news is that they were all very good so if you are staying here you are pretty much guaranteed good food.In the face of some stiff competition we thought this restaurant was the best all round dining experience of our week. Excellent service, beautifully presented and delicious food, lovely setting in an outside courtyard â and good value too.We were given a complimentary amuse-bouche and shared a prawn starter which was amazing. My wife had a fillet steak which was beautifully cooked and I went for the oven baked fish of the day which was also excellent. All washed down with a very nice bottle of Primitivo. We didnât have room for desert! You should east here.

Ristorante le majoliche nasce nel giugno 2015 con l'intenzione di portare con amore e passione la Buon cucina italiana (siciliana) a l'estero, con piatti tradizionali della propria terra.
My wife and I re-visited this restaurant for dinner. We shared the most tender carpaccio di polipo and my wife then had a lovely pasta allo scoglio while I ordered swordfish all' acqua pazza. The portions were most generous and the sauces were to die for. All this was washed down with a white Sicilian Catarratto. We ended the dinner with a cannolo (for me) and a pistacchio semi-freddo (for my wife). All for 80 Euros. No wonder the place was completely full with clients queuing outside for tables to become available. This restaurant is a must to visit BUT do make a reservation.

Pizza Pasta Burger with Neapolitan style
I bought lunch for myself and two friends here. I came due to the high rating on Trip Advisor, but it wasn't cheap and tasted garbo. There's way better food nearby. Wouldn't recommend. Also the owners have a witty comment to make about every negative review telling them how wrong they are. As past customers, we use this and other review platforms to tell people of our experiences, you can't tell us that our opinion is wrong.

Really authentic Italian food. Great service and a nice location on the side of the street with outdoor and indoor dining. Lots of seafood options, including fresh lobster linguine. Highlights for us included the carbonara, the pizza Napoli and the dough and seaweed balls with tempura vegetables.

We specialize in cooking seafood for takeaway. Daily fresh seasonal seafood available in stock. Come in or order by phone for pick up.
It may just be our bad luck or the fact that we were the only Asian-looking tourists around (and the lads thought we didnât know any better)... The fish and chips were the worst weâve ever had - coming from Australia we have had a few good ones. For 9 euros we got one (rather small) piece of over cooked cod with minimal batter and soggy chips. The fish was so dry and tough even the kids didnât want it. The chips were clearly deep fried in old, stale oil and was awful. And to think we specifically walked for 20min to get to this place based on reviews. There was unfortunately nothing âgourmetâ about the food. Just overpriced, and the joint had nowhere to sit except for two bar stools - and at the counter they asked us: would you like to eat in or takeaway? Eat in where?? If you want good fish and chips there are - as we discovered later - many better options around the island. Like the Sea Shell Fish and Chips in Bugibba and even many of the restaurants in Sliema and Valletta do a good (and fairly priced) deal on fish and chips. For less than or similar to what this joint charge for âgourmet takeawayâ you can get better food and enjoy proper table service (some place for 7 euros with a drink!).A really bad experience for us and we would advise other to be cautious - at least check whatâs in the takeaway box before you walk away..

Merħba, as we like to say in Maltese, to Taâ Rinaldu ristobar. The words âfreshâ, âauthenticâ and âcreativeâ are the hallmarks upon which we continuously strive to provide with each serving from our kitchen. Here at Taâ Rinaldu ristobar, we seek to provid
Excellent food, generous portions and efficient friendly service. The place is very well kept with original architectural features dating back many years. The cellar offers the perfect atmosphere for a private night out with friends.

Looking at both their online menu and the fact that this is TA's #1 for "fine dining", we expected to have something rally fancy. The clues should have been there when we arrived at 8pm - the only people in the restaurant.Lovely modern decor, but a very dated menu - things like duck à l'orange, chicken marsala and beef wellington. Prices are also relatively high by Malta standards. We opted for just a main course. My wife had the beef wellington: nicely cooked except that the pastry on the bottom was raw. The waitress said this was because the beef was medium-rare, but my wife is a brilliant home cook and said that the trick is to cook on a rack so the heat gets to it - sear the meat all round, higher heat for 25 minutes etc etc. I had the beef fillet, which was nicely cooked. The asparagus that came with both meals was way over-cooked, stringy and limp.Considering that we were on our own for an hour, service was quite poor. They did bring us two lots of free drinks at the end, which was nice. I wouldn't go back there again.â¬99 - definitely not worth the money!Dear David,Thank you so much for taking the time to review us and note that we are number 1 on TripAdvisor for fine dining, something we worked very hard to achieve. We are so fortunate that over 92% of our guests ranked us as either excellent or very good with the majority being 5 star.So we are very disappointed that you did not have the same experience and I did send you a private message to discuss your evening at 59.We appreciate your kind comments on our lovely decor and that we gave you two rounds of complimentary drinks. Regarding our "dated" menu these are classics and sit next to many contemporary dishes. However the menu is on the website, social media and at the front door and you stated that you did see the menu before dining with us so I am not sure why the comments calling it dated. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss further and ask you to get back to me on the message that I sent.We would love to welcome you back to 59 and show you what the majority of people experience.
