Graceful Mdina, the stately town known as the Silent City, holds court from the southwest corner of the captivating island of Malta. The commanding medieval Old City perches on its rocky promontory, its fortified bastions looming above the azure waters of the Mediterranean. This enchanting Maltese city offers a warren of narrow streets, populated by churches, palaces and gracious houses, punctuated by large squares and delightfully free of cars in its UNESCO-designated ancient quarters.

My evening alone started out to be crappy however once I went to my friends pub it truely was the best NYE ever for everyone there. The drinks and the finger foods were great but most of all the feeling of being family forever

What could be lovelier then sitting and relaxing with something cool and crisp surveying the Mdina skyline after taking in so much opulence at the Palazzo Falson!Highly recommended!

Beautiful place, lovely atmosphere, quality pizzas Italian standard. Well-kept garden in a historic courtyard with an old well and a typical Maltese exterior. Friendly and smiling staff, and the food arrived promptly. A little bit doesnât reach for a full five points. Owners know what the speech is about, I guess.

We actually went here for lunch because our 'usual' restaurant was closed, so found this on Trip Advisor instead. But we were not disappointed. The food was beautifully cooked and the portions were large. We definitely over ordered: a pizza to share as a starter, risotto and a mixed grill (mostly to share both between us) as a main. The pizza and risotto would have been enough for us both so when the mixed grill arrived were were already fairly stuffed, but it was too good to leave any. We didn't want to eat for the rest of the day and still felt full the next day! The only downside was the huge number of flies which were constantly around the tables. Some fly deterrents would have been helpful, but it seems this is the month for flies as they're everywhere. Overall definitely recommend this place. Friendly staff and good value for the large portions.

This is one of those really tiny places that does well to serve such good food. Beware that even though there is more seating upstairs the only access is via a very narrow and twisty staircase. The chicken wrap that we shared was toasted and served hot. It was packed with ingredients, served with crisps and salad and was more than enough for two.The only thing letting this place down was a missing toilet seat.Worth the walk from Mdina. Thanks for your comment

Not your typical touristy café/snack bar near St. Paulâs Catacombs, Il-Baxa is but a surprisingly great dining place with absolutely amazing homemade pasta and soup. Their food is brought up in an old elevator chute, hot and fresh! I really cannot recall a better place for fresh pasta outside of Italy. Thank you for sparing your time to review il-baXa. We take feedback seriously and consider all comments as encouragement and opportunities for improvement. It was a pleasure hosting you.

This is a local haunt. Nothing to look at, but they make beautiful little pastizzi (a pastry with cheese or pea puree filling). They are delicious and this place is famous in Malta for making them.We highly recommend it and it has the bonus of being right near the lovely city of Mdina
