At Taco John's®, we serve traditional Mexican food-with a twist. By fusing bold American flavors with south-of-the-border spice, we've defined our signature menu. From our trademark Potato Olés® and freshly prepared tacos to our infamous breakfast burrito
I ate here Jul2015 and their speed has picked up. They are fast, efficient, friendly with fresh, hot, tasty food and a very clean place. They are the best Taco Johns I've been to. And on the Marcydiner tantrum/screaming kid scale they have a 5/5. Meaning all kids were well behaved in this restaurant.

Very good service. I love their spice sauce and the melon margarita. Good prices. I didn't like the chile verde pork, had a lot of fat couldn't eat it at all. Besides that, the rest was very good. I tried the blackberry margarita was good too.
We had not enjoyed Chipotle for a year as we don't have one in our town. We were going through and looked on the GPS and saw this one. The food was good just a bit too spicy. I don't remember it this spicy from Arizona. The place was a little old and could use a bit of fresh paint.Staff were friendly and the food good.

The owners of tamales industry take great pride in the product they are selling. The tamales literally start from dried corn. The corn is milled, soaked, made into masa (corn flour), filled with your choice of meat, and finished in the traditional corn husk. The process takes 12 hours according to them. Be advised; because of the lengthy, labor intensive process you'll run into some foibles. Once they run out for the day, they're out. Period. Second, the price can seem a bit steep. But considering the labor intensive process, it's about par in my book. I inhaled my meal. The tamales are delish! Honestly think the one's I used to buy from the Mexicans in the grocery store parking lot as a kid were better. But these are great, and worth your try.

Writing my review now overseas of my most recent visit in April has me craving Mexican food, and there arguably isn't better in Des Moines.Salsa and chips are fresh. Service is fast. Restaurant is clean, and best of all, is the fresh delicious food. I've never had a bad meal here. Wish they had a restaurant further west in town.

Service was very fast and friendly. I had the fajitas with chorizo, chicken, and steak. So flavorful! The kids loved the topping bar for their ice cream. The only thing we didn't care for was the guacamole.

Ate the usual, very large, express chicken burrito lunch special with the rice and beans. Consistent bland Mexican food and with a little salsa is good to go. Very filling and with the soda, chips and salsa and the free dessert (ice cream) for under $10 you can not go wrong by eating here. Give em a try if in town. Thanks for reading and if it helps give a thumbs up.

I brought my sons here to eat and watch football (in the bar area) and we were most impressed. Two loaded plates of food arrived at our table just for me. Iâd ordered the Vegetarian Fajita. Great pina colada and flan, too. Super fast service for a Saturday afternoon. Friendly wait staff and really cheap prices.
