This is located in the former Jack's Taco building on Highway 14. For $8.00, you can get a burrito that is very similar to the ones they have at Pancheros-type places. Meat choices include steak, seasoned pork, chicken, shredded pork, ham, tripe, tongue, and cheek. I'm not that adventurous, so I went with a steak burrito with everything. It was delicious and HUGE. "Everything" included rice, beans, steak, lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, sour cream, and onion. After having such a good experience, I'll definitley be back.
I visited this place based on reviews - I must have hit a bad night. I ordered a chicken burrito which appeared to be similar to what you can get at Qboda. It was OK. I also had a drink which is where the problems started. I got the lemonade and a little extra - a bug. YUCK!!! I then when to sit on a stool and felt like I was going to fall off because it was so rickety. This is definitely a dive (not in a good way).
New addition to the veggie basket of Broccoli Cheese Bites so yummy with the corn nuts onion rings cheese curds mushrooms all cooked to perfection. My ultimate favorite the Bad Bandid fixed just the way I like it. There is something here for everyone's taste. More than just tacos. Service is great easy to locate and even a drive thru if you choose. Family owned for 42 years. Ample outside parking. Inside seating is counter or table again your choice. Eat in or carry out however you choose so worth a visit here.

Since we're from Texas, we don't go anywhere near so-called Mexican restaurants when we're in Iowa. But we decided to take a chance on Maria's Tacos. We're glad we did! Authentic Mexican tacos, plus burritos, tortas, and chile relleno, along with soft drinks, tea, and horchata! If you haven't had horchata, do yourself a favor and try it. It's the yummiest drink made with rice milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. The red sauce is really tasty but HOT. The green tomatillo sauce is also really tasty and mild. It's a walk-up place with sort of a food truck vibe, where you order and pickup from the window. Seating is on a few picnic tables outside or on the covered porch. The girl working was so friendly and helpful, answering all our questions. Food was cooked to order and came as quick as they could cook it. Do yourself a favor and see what real Mexican food is like by eating at Maria's.

Really recommend this place. I havenât been here in seven years as I was skeptical about their GF options and how they handled cross contamination. I finally did my homework and gave it a shot last weekend. They have the appropriate measures in place so I gave it a try. Their chips and salsa are GF. Their tacos asada with corn tortillas are also gluten free. I had their rice as well without incident. I did not try their refried beans. The toppings for the tacos were also GF and I had a great experience here. I highly recommend it and look forward to many visits in the near future.

When it comes to Mexican food, there's a lot to choose from in Marshalltown--I honestly think Marshalltown is a hidden gem of Iowa--I can call it "Little Mexico". If there were two restaurants I would recommend a local Mexican visitor or a fan of Mexican food, it would be Zamora's and then Plaza Mexico! The menu selection is huge, the prices are incredibly affordable, large portions, endless tortillas and salsas, and friendly and hospitable staff!
