Things to do in Boone
We eat at Subways all across the country, but Boone by far has the freshest ingredients, the best preparers, the friendliest attitude, but a happy experience everytime.
Tried the new Market Cafe in our local Hy-Vee. Had the $5 off coupon for two, so we had two coupons, so the whole family went. Everything in their buffet was very good, they had scrambled eggs, cheesy hash browns (exceptional), bacon, sausage patties, fried potatoes with peppers (exceptional); mac & cheese; chicken stripes, biscuits & gravy; salmon with a marvelous dill sauce (my very favorite thing here); shrimp w cocktail sauce (also well done without any shelling needed, which I especially appreciated); a sweet roll assortment with everything you could dream of (the cinnamon rolls were to die for). They have a made to order bar, my son had the eggs Benedict and said it was the very best he'd ever had. The real problem is the place is very small and it felt like everyone was running over each other. We didn't even know they had a place for fruit until we went to leave and discovered it wedged sort of next to and behind the made to order area. The help was very new (this place just opened last Thursday the 18th (2014) and our waitress didn't tell us that we could have went to the fresh food counter and also ordered anything we wanted in salads and other foods. But, really we got plenty and all left feeling well fed. A warning about drinks, a coffee and an ice tea will tag on $5 to the overall cost which sort of ruined the whole $5 off coupon for us. Still the food was above par for what you'd expect a brunch in small town Boone to have and I'm sure we will be back.

Ride on over and enjoy the best buffet in town! Our American West restaurant is perfect for fun, family dining. We have salads, sides, mouthwatering desserts, and Buffet Your Way-featuring pizzas made to your request. Bring the whole crew and have your ne
The salad bar was very limited and older choices were available. The pizza is lacking taste. The sauce is very bland. The chicken is acceptable, but not my favorite. In all fairness, I have not been in since the new owners took over so it might be better now.

This is THE BEST pumpkin pancake I've ever had! They are only open 5am til 2 pm, but you have to try these! See pics. Small, community place, overflowing with personality. Very friendly staff. Family friendly. Clean. Ok prices. Marcydiner tantrum scale of 5/5-no screaming kids. Street and small lot parking. Lots of locals. Some booths, couple tables and larger counter seating. We will be back!

My wife had a steak and said it was good. I decided to try chicken fried steak and it was good as wellâmaybe could have used a bit more gravy. Kids all seemed to enjoy their chicken fingers. Nothing to complain aboutâthe service was good and prompt. It wasnât a âwow this is great!â kind of experience, but very good.

Definitely a place to avoid. I found very little to like after trying several dishes. Several were virtually inedible. The fried chicken was decent but the bourbon chicken awful. Even the green beans, pretty hard to mess up, were awful. Desserts tried were poor. The foods were unmarked in the buffet, which made selection very difficult. Cleanliness was sub-par. Had to wipe our own table.Restroom dubious. Even the paper towel dispenser wasnât working properly. Could barely dry my hands.Staff was inattentive and less than helpful, except for one male cashier and one hostess. One interacts with many, especially when the food is unmarked.

We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday and it was moderately busy. Wide selection on the menu, food arrived very quickly! I had the 1/2 slab of ribs, beans and potato salad. The ribs were delicious, the beans were so good and the bread was amazing too! We get out here about once a year to the Boone/Ames area and we always try to stop here for a meal and it never disappoints!
