We've been to Konomi several times. The service and food have always been good. Occasionally they've had some sort of fish I haven't had before which is fun to try. It hasn't been our go-to sushi spot, but it's always been fine when we have gone.Recently we went on a Wednesday night. They have a specially priced menu. It's a great deal. Various Nigiri and house rolls at an awesome price! I had the tobiko, ikura, masago, ika, tako and a roll. Everything was fresh and delicious! They also brought us edamame to start our meal. Sake and cocktails were delicious. Our waiter was fun, friendly, and prompt. This is definitely the place to go on Wednesday nights. I'm looking forward to going back!

Really good food and service. We would definitely go back again. Although it was quite busy the day we went for lunch, service was fine and food came quickly enough. Both of us ordered tempura -dinner entree. One was vegetable and the other, shrimp. Really GOOD shrimp! Food came hot and tasted good. The waiter was very helpful and efficient - as well as friendly.

I've eaten here twice now and have gotten the same dish both times. The Bangkok Curry is delicious. I've had it work chicken and pork and both times it was excellent.

A year ago, I had rated this place as my favorite Japanese restaurant. Now I'm not so sure. On my recent visit, the lunch menu has been greatly reduced. My favorite chicken katsu is no longer offered. The clear broth soup was also not offered and the server automatically brought me the super-salty miso soup. I ordered a bento box, but the portion of tempura is smaller - i.e. the shrimp is much smaller. Plus, the batter is not as light and crispy. Please bring back the old menu! Please
I had just got done hiking at nearby Kent park on this last 72 degree day of November 2016, just a week before the Thanksgiving holiday and I was hungry. I had decided to stop at the mall for some shopping and to eat in their food court. A lovely young woman was in front of this place handing out free samples of the special of the day: Grilled chicken teriyaki, and it was delicious. I was smitten. I rolled the dice and decided that this was the best place to eat and I only spent six bucks for over a pound of food. Steamed rice(and plenty of it), fresh cooked veggies and grilled chicken cooked right in front of me by a young Japanese man that used a hibachi grill that was set at over 500 degrees he told me. My meal was prepared and sliced and served within minutes. It took me over an hour to consume this. I have recently eaten at fancy places in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and other places and let me tell you folks, at THIS place you cannot beat what they have. At least here, at Sarku Japan, spending six bucks on food will fill you up. Unbelievable is this restaurant. Great food and a happy staff. Clean area to dine in; free WiFi; plenty of tables; big, open area and a top-notch menu. You are eating at a food court in a mall so parking is abundant. You cannot go wrong choosing this place to eat lunch or dinner. In my opinion, of course!
