finding a viet restaurant was no longer in business we drove by mondo and decided to try it. Late evening we each had half a sandwich and soup. The soups,, black bean and tortilla were very good. The sandwiches probably not even average. What made the evening was a piece of oatmeal pie which neither of us had ever had. A great end to the meal

While in town my husband and I stopped to grab something for lunch. Fun atmosphere with all of the University sports theme. Wings were fantastic! Lots of choices for different sauces. Service was phenomenal! Our waitress Nicole was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu and provided exceptional service! Came back to check on us multiple times and get us everything we needed as well as had a great personality!

We were excited to try Guild Wurst Tavern since it was new and we were hearing rave reviews. We were there on a snowy weekday night. There weren't many other patrons. The staff were very friendly and greeted us when we walked in.The building is pretty ugly from the outside - just one solid color. We found parking around back. Inside it's airy, modern, casual, and relaxed. We sat at a table and were able to watch the Olympics on the screen. This turned out to be a great happenstance since beer is on special during Curling. I actually ended up ordering a flight of beers so I could try a variety. For dinner I had the Italian with a side of chili and my partner had the Matador. The Italian also came with a decent sized portion of chips which were thick, home-made, and tasty. The chili was cup-sized with decent flavor. It was extremely thick. I wasn't able to dip my chips in as it was so solid and heavy. The brat was tasty, but didn't strike me as standing out from any other brat I have had. My partner loved the matador which included chorizo, Spanish potatoes, and a biscuit. I felt like the food prices were a mite high, but I appreciated the uniqueness of the menu and that the sausage and beer are locally made. I wasn't wowed by the flavors or prices of the food, but I did enjoy the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. My partner did love the food, so I'm sure we'll go back.

Full service restaurant specializing in wood fired pizza and a full bar with 20 draft beers and an extensive wine list. Inspired by the gathering of friends and family at a backyard pizza party
If you like wood-fired brick oven pizza, this is the place for you. We had the Lunch for 2 for $19, which was a pizza and 2 soups and/or 2 salads. We chose the Sweet Angelo pizza, which was just delightful, sweet with a little honey, tomato, mozzarella, pickled chilies, and soppresata, which I think is another name for pepperoni...anyway, it's great! My husband loved this pizza, he just asked if we could have it for supper too. I told him maybe!! We both love this kind of crust, chewy and so good. Our lunch companions had the salad...I should have ordered the salad instead of soup. Big salad with croutons, tomatoes, prosciutto, and pickled onion, which they gave to me. Yum!! They ordered the Keeping it Local pizza, pesto, goat cheese, caramelized onion, red pepper and tomatoes. They liked it a lot. The menu has lots of interesting items that I'd like to try. Our terrific server was Cierra. It was a lovely day so the big doors to the front were open. Had a great time, super food, and we will go back.

I love shorts. It has everything I want. First, it's located right next to campus in the heart of all the action. The tiny store front along Clinton St makes it easy to miss. All you get is a faded burgundy awning with the words Short's Burger & Shine. It's easy to miss. Inside, the place is just as small as the store front indicates. There is a small row of two person tables along the right side and a row of four person booths on the left side. The bar and one single large table can be found in the back. It's tight, cozy and awesome atmosphere. The food was great. We tried several of the burgers. The meat is cooked correctly and has wonderful seasoning. Once you add your style of toppings to make the burger you like, it's soo good. The fries were really well done. Short's also has a reasonable selection of craft beers, which makes me love this place even more.I almost landed on four stars because of the service. In the end, I loved the food and atmosphere too much to ding it for the poor service. It's not a big place, but getting a server is rough going.

Visited on Thursday evening the last night for our out of town family. We all enjoyed sitting outside on a very nice evening and listening to the band out on the sidewalk. We had very good service, and fairly quick as they were pretty busy. We had the burgers, yokisoba veggie noodles, and a few had the veggie Mac. All were good and served hot and fresh. This is a great place in Iowa City and we will keep coming back!

A must stop restaurant for people in this area. They offer three types of their tasty crust, various topping, a great sauce, and plenty of cheese. Delicious! Other menu items including pasta, sandwiches, and salads are also good. The staff is friendly and service great.
