Reviews on European food in Cephalonia, Ionian Islands, Greece. The sapphire waters of Cephalonia are steeped with history. The large Greek island was home to Odysseus, the legendary king hailed in Homer’s The Odyssey. Fortunately, it won’t take you ten years to get there. Explore the enchanting caverns of the Drogarati caves, sail to Ithaca on a glass-bottomed boat or marvel at the ancient artifacts inside the Archaeological Museum of Argostoli, Cephalonia’s main town. Or just hide from it all at one of the island’s many private beach coves.

Hotel restaurants don't have the best of reputations and the dining room decor at The Odyssey Hotel is off-putting in its garishness. Outside on the terrace, it's an entirely different matter, with its relaxed vibe and a great view across the bay. The menu is inventive with impeccable presentation - a real tonic when faced with the bland uniformity of all the me-too, "family-run", "authentic" restaurants in the rest of the town. The service is excellent, too, so a it's a big thumbs up from us.Dear DGEKent,Thank you so very much for taking the time to review Mnistires Restaurant.We are thrilled to know you have had a wonderful meal and your comments towards the restaurant and the team are most kind and highly appreciated. I shall take enormous pleasure in passing on your comments to them - and sure they shall be as thrilled as I am. We very much hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future at Mnistires restaurant.Warm regards,Catherine

Positive: The amazing view, fried potatoes, water and view. Negative: We asked about the vine leaves âThe Vine leaves are cannedâ this is a warning sign at a Greek restaurant. The white wine they served tasted a bit like a week old pre opened bottle. The briam I was served was extremely sad, soggy, waterlogged, depressed, laughable, and really was the joke of our vacation. Conclusion: I would eat the terrible briam again for the view and laughs. The view!

From the day we met with Kostas and Annie last year all our wedding stress disappeared. We had a limited budget but they made sure will had a billion dollar wedding, it was priceless.They took care of all the complex paper work, with very clear timely instructions for our actions. Emails were responded to quickly and nothing was too much trouble. they kept us updated with costs (which were so reasonable).When we finally flew out with 22 guests we met with them 2 days before the wedding for final catch up, they were so kind and reassuring. Last minute questions and additions were included with no fuss (or charge)! they arranged transport from resort to our beautiful wedding beach, they arranged Maria the best photographer ( we were presented with a beautiful album before we flew home 3 days later). The celebrant was wonderful, our readings, vows and speeches all factored in. Annie totally understood my concept and added in perfect ideas of her own, my flowers surpassed my expectations (again incredible value), my cake was simplicity and delicious. The wedding breakfast was relaxed and scummy something for everyone and the local wine flowed. Canapes and prosecco followed the ceremony - we were in paradise! I cannot recommend them enough, all our dreams were surpassed. Eternally grateful! not one thing i can suggest to improve it was perfection.

It all began in 2001 with one man and his dream. Come on in and let Apostolis and Natalia be your hosts, while you enjoy delicious traditional Greek food served with Kefalonian hospitality, in a warm family atmosphere. All our dishes are cooked to order;
This restuarant has a lovely atmosphere, the lighting is just right when it gets dark.Had a lovely meal here. My husband is partial to the meatballs and we made sure we visited when the soutzoukakia was on special. I had the port fillet with mushrooms, the portions are very good.The staff are so nice and very attentive.The prices are very reasonable - in fact cheapest meal of the week.Would definitely recommend the Apostolis

Located on the Trapezaki Road! Specials change daily. Fast service and tasty grill souvlaki ,gyros and fresh salads .
We have eaten several times here. Very friendly and welcoming staff.The food is really great Quality. The lamb chops, steak and the souvlaki are exceptional and really huge portions.The seafood souvlaki is my particular favourite.Last night I ordered moussaka,which I had enjoyed on a previous visit. This time though, it was seriously over cooked and I couldnât eat it.The waitress was excellent when I showed her and ordered something else.When it was time to pay, we realised we hadnât been charged for either the moussaka, or its replacement, which was a very nice gesture.Everyone can make a mistake, but they handled it very well and weâll eat there for sure on our next trip.

Being the first establishment at the bottom of the road down from Lourdata town and Vlachata, the Seven Café Bar is upstairs above the Lourdas Mare bar. Being high above the beach itself affords the Seven Café excellent views across the bay and more importantly on a hot summer day, a lovely sea breeze. Sitting on the terrace and having a frappe is one of lifeâs little pleasures â especially when on some days the Café provides a bottle of water and a slice of cake when you buy a coffee! The frappe made with ice cream is particularly nice, with the sweetness of the ice cream and the bitterness of the coffee foam complimenting each other perfectly and providing welcome relief from the heat. The staff are very pleasant, going about their business with a smile and there is a small book exchange area inside where you can drop off the book youâve just read and pick up another one to flick through on the terrace. Being near the bus stop to get you back up the hill is just another plus point for this lovely little café.

Along with the beautiful food and amazing staff Annie was really great with the fact that we have kids with us sometimes noisy and embarrassing, when we asked for a table out of the way she had a great little nook she tucked us in that we felt we could enjoy our meal without disturbing anyone else... Along with the fab cocktails the food was divine and you get real portions, along with a good kids Menu and a great Veggie/Vegan variety and beautiful freshly made brad rolls!Really enjoyable eveningThank you so much for your lovely review

Deco Art Cuisine
We came to this restaurant only because of the 1st place in Sami according to TA. But comparing to other places in the town which we visited during three weeks Deco isn't above the middle, probably even below. Service was not attentive. We waited for menu and wine cards for 10 min and another 10 to make an order. One dish was good - blue cheese salad. Aubergine salad was nice also. However we had to ask for a bread separately though it should come with such salad by default, as well as lemon should come with octopus by default. But in this place it doesn't come also. In addition Octopus was overgrilled. Prawns saganaki contained ...just three prawns and cost 9 euro...see picture. Moussaka was nice also. The bill is above average for Sami. We would never return to this restaurant(
