We are up north for our annual Valentine's Day ski trip and decided to finally visit White Mountain Cider Company for the auspicious holiday dinner and made our reservation at least a few weeks or so prior.
We were not disappointed. Very nice ambience, seated promptly, and well served by Ben. We shared the calamari appetizer and the fried romaine salad to start and both were creative and delicious. Den had a dirty martini he enjoyed and I had a Proseco split to go along with our food. For entrees, Den had the seared scallops with black rice and I had the Tamarind Duck, served with butternut cup squash puree and Brussels sprouts, etc. I love to have a good duck entree when available and was glad I did. There was enough leftover that I just finished it for a bit of lunch & still scrumptious, as was the bite of scallop I had last night. Finally, had a delicious chocolate dessert, which I did share somewhat with Den but mostly kept to myself.
Three things the Cider Company did that stand out. First, I did have a glass of red wine with my entree and I had asked our waiter, Ben, for recommendations from their very nice wine list. Ben returned with two wine samples for me to try - first time I have encountered this & loved it. Both were nice choices and Den enjoyed sampling as well. Secondly, for my leftovers, Ben didn't bring the box to our table right after clearing and before dessert. I thought he might have forgotten but didn't say anything. After dessert, Ben brought the box out - how thoughtful to wait till then. Finally, being Valentine's Day, all the women guests were treated to a beautiful long-stemmed red rose on leaving. I may be a feminist but I do still love this.
Thank you, Cider Company. We will be back.

This place was recommended to us by several locals so we took their advice. So glad we did. When you first open the door, you realize that you're in for a treat. The whole place is like a funhouse/museum/pub. Seriously, there is not a square inch of this place (walls, ceiling, etc.) that is not covered with something interesting. I'm not sure if she is the owner but a delightful woman with a charming accent took our names and quickly seated us. To add to this, several other ladies also had the same beautiful accent. The menu was fairly extensive and our food was delicious. But it all combines to give us a wonderful and memorable experience. Don't miss it!

Located in the heart of the town close to the old train station on the main road. Sit inside, outside or upstairs. Good snacks, cakes and a varied selection of flavoured coffees and teas. Reasonable prices. Easy access with one step to access. Parking right outside and to the rear. Would recommend. If this helps give me a ‘like’.

A Valley favorite with locals and visitors alike, Tuckerman's Restaurant & Tavern uses only the freshest ingredients for delectable appetizers, fresh salads, mouth watering entrees and unforgettable desserts. We have something to please everyone, including Gluten-Free options and a Kids' Menu too.
Huge place just south of Jackson. Just a little off Route 16. Huge place. Huge comfort food menu and, of course, good variety of local beers on tap.
Good was good. Solid. Nothing too out-of-the-box. I had Shepard’s pie another friend had spaghetti with meatballs. The Shepard’s pie was more potatoes than meat. I wouldn’t recommend it.
The vegetarian in the group was able to order sides of nicely cooked veggies, soup and rice.
Highly recommend the place - get there early. It is hugely popular.

We are a 49 seat Breakfast and Lunch Restaurant located on Stanley's Hill in Beautiful Glen NH! "Comfort Food with a Funky Mountain Vibe" Making everything from scratch and serving generous portions, at reasonable prices. At the Shack we try to serve local products when ever possible. Also, we have Beers on tap and in the bottle, a compact offerings of wine, Mimosa's and we are home to the Bloody Sunrise (a Bloody Mary served with Tuckerman's Pale Ale instead of Vodka.
We arrived on Sunday morning the place was heaving, and we had to wait 15 minutes, not a problem. When we got sat down the service was first class, bottomless coffee, and we had the pancakes and bacon, which were just delicious .We will definitely be back later this week

After eating lunch, we were looking for a little cookie or cupcake. We used the trip advisor review and ended up at Old Village Bakery, it was amazing! I wanted to order one of everything, however I stuck with the 3 oatmeal cookie options, oatmeal raisin, oatmeal chocolate chip and oatmeal cranberry, OMG, they were all amazing? Soft, warm and by far some of the best cookies I have ever had!
The bread also looked great and the scone flovours sounded so inviting!
A definite find in North Conway!

At Margarita Grill it's not just about the food,it's ALL about the food! A NH Farm to Table Certified Restaurant, we're proud to support NH Farmers and producers of high quality products. Our food is Southwestern, a blend of many cuisines: gringo, Native American, pre-Hispanic, Hispanic, Cowboy, Chuckwagon and Mexican, with a smattering Creole and Cajun thrown in for good measure. At Margarita Grill, we start with the freshest ingredients, including local produce and high quality meats. We've even developed our own salsas, and accent our meats and fish with special rubs and flavor enhancers. And just as we layer each ingredient in our many dishes, we often layer flavors by utilizing a variety of cooking techniques including smoking, braising and grilling. The result? Hearty, flavorful, Southwest-inspired dishes with a unique twist that's all our own. There's no doubt that there's something for everyone here. Take a look at our menu, you'll see what we mean. Come in and visit us for a true NH experience!
Have had dinner at this location two times. It has fabulous drinks and great food. We have not been disappointed. We have travelled both times with large parties (12) and have had no issues. The kids menu is terrific with plenty to choose from if you have kids who are picky eaters(includes non southwestern food). The ingredients are always fresh and the service has been top notch. It is a very small restaurant, be prepared to wait during their busier times. They do have call ahead seating which is a plus. The drinks are top notch, the best margaritas I've had. This is worth a stop on your itinerary, just a short drive form North Conway and Storyland.

Boy-- one of the nicest Sunday brunches we've ever had! Lovely room, great views, terrific piano player, friendly, attentive service, and did I mention the great views?
The brunch is fine, the food nicely prepared, and the serving area is well designed, and there is something for everyone. That said, there is a bit less than there might be for those who avoid pork. There was bacon and sausage, and a ham for carving-- fine. But the frittata had bacon in it, the chicken was made with ham. There was no chicken dish without pork, no beef or lamb dishes at all save corned beef hash (which was quite nice). The desserts were lovely and fun-- and came in small sizes, which made it fun for the kids, and nice for those who wanted to have a bit of this and that. The rice and green beans were unattractively labeled "starch" and "vegetable."
The restaurant had a lot of children, but such was the design, that noise from that quarter was not the least unpleasant, and indeed, the place is very kid friendly, making for happy children.
We had a great time and we plan to return when next we come to the area! Highly recommended. (Oh, and as of January 2018, the price is reasonable).

Coffee Shop
It was a pleasant surprise to discover this. The coffee's flavour was great, something very different from the other store chains. We had some bangles too, nice ones. The ambiance is great and inviting. We were in no hurry to drive out, so we enjoyed the time spent here. Will sure return here as and when we drive nearby in White Mountains.

We went to their little shop in the mall and not at the town and it was terrible. The lady was rude and had an attitude. Everyone had to speak up to her and when you raised the voice for her to hear she rolled her eyes. Then the frost shots are not even worth it. Little cups with no kids. She also was in a hurry to talk to family that had come into the small bakery.
Cupcakes are good though.
I pray she was not the owner.
