This restaurant is just a few minutes from our home and is a place we often visit. The variety of dishes, and the relatively inexpensive level, makes it a favorite. The decor is also very interesting, and makes the whole experience an exciting outing.

My husband and I found this place by accident and it was amazing! It was by far the best Mongolian food we have had during our week stay. It's a bit gimmicky with the costumes and decor but great for kids and family (and anyone in for fun). The food is good enough to draw in people of any age. We tried to go here in the evening around 6 pm and it was packed with a wait over an hour. We went back during lunch twice and got a seat no problem. Each time we ordered a mix of veggies and meat from mushrooms with garlic and spice, lamb legs, beef wraps, sweat peas, and beer. Everything was of excellent quality. My husband and I have lived in China for 4 years and never had food as clean and delicious as this!
It is hard to find real Mongolian food in Hohhot, most food is made to suit the Chinese taste of course. Earlier the day we tried a Mongolian restaurant with loads of Chinese tourists, it wasn't bad but it didn't feel authentic. We tried to search another place for dinner and came around the place. We noticed the writing of the menu was in kyrillic which is the official writing in the country Mongolia. So we decided to give it a go.We were not disappointed. All the people in the restaurant spoke Mongolian. The waitress didn't even speak any Chinese or English. The menu had dishes which were totally different to what we had seen in the Chinese Mongolian restaurant. The food came fast and it was amazing. Mongolian cheese pizza with loads and loads of cheese. Milk tea soup with meat dumplings, mashed potatoes and many more. We overate. We just had to use this chance :-)

This restaurant was recommended to us so we decided to give it a go. We returned 3 times it was that good. Extensive menu but some of the dishes we didn't like but we loved the BBQ sets which has 3 sizes, small, medium and large and it's basically grilled lamb (with bones) and an assortment of veggies served on a foiled platter with some very hot stones. Very reasonable prices. For a family of 5 (3 kids) our bill never went over RMB250! It's cheap as chips. The yak tea is also nice but a bit salty. Try the camel meat pancakes they are so yummy. The restaurant can get very smoky so get a private room upstairs and close the doors!

It is a chain restaurant but still serve good and reliably delicious dumplings. The dumplings pattern make it quite special as it is very pretty. They practice breakfast and lunch sessions separately with about 1.5 hours break between them. We arrived at 10.30 AM and the staffs were quite sour about it when we insisted to stay as we got special permission from their manager and promised that we would only order what was readily available. So, do check the opening times before going. Nice decor too.

Had dinner at Ge Ri Le A Ma and it was absolutely amazing (and cheap)! They have all sorts of exotic lamb things such as milk tofu, milk tea, etc, and gamey meats including camel meat. Their lamb ribs are definitely the highlight - the skin is crispy, and the meat doesn't smell too stinky. We also like their mutton dumplings and tried Mongolian King, a type of baijiu native to Inner Mongolia. The décor is very ethnic and overall, we had a good meal at a good price and feel like we tried something authentic to Inner Mongolia
