Since February 11th 1965, Arni's has been serving fresh and delicious food with a friendly smile. When you come to Arni's you're getting more than just a good meal, you're experiencing one of Indiana's finest restaurant traditions. Family and friends all
We grew up on Arni's pizza in Lafayette some 40+ years ago - back then there was just the one restaurant in Market Square. Over the years, more have cropped up around the state, but few have been able to capture the quality of the pizza that Arni himself produced. While driving back from a trip to Wisconsin, we stopped here to try this restaurant's take on our favorite pizza. We ordered a small deluxe with no mushrooms. After we ordered, it took around 20 minutes, but the pizza was finally ready. One look and our heart sank. Arni's pizza should be piled high with toppings - indeed you shouldn't see but a trace of cheese as there should be a mound of sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, and onion over the entire surface (unlike any other pizza you'll ever see). Here, we saw an ocean of cheese with a small island of toppings in the center. Being Purdue-trained engineers, we did a scientific analysis: a small Arni's pizza is cut into 16 rectangular pieces. By our observation, we saw a full load of toppings on the four center pieces alone. The remaining pieces where almost all cheese - a piece of onion here, a little ground sausage there, a lonely diced green pepper over yonder, and a little pepperoni off on its own someplace else. Our final rating with 25% of the pizza properly dressed - 1.25 of 5 stars. A sad evening in C'ville...

Though we have had their pizza delivered to our hotel before, this is the first time we've eaten in the restaurant. The facility is older, basic, and fairly well maintained. While we were waiting for our order, several law enforcement officers came in for a meal; which we usually consider a good recommendation for an eatery. Our server was friendly and intermittently attentive. Our shared salad was fresh and amply portioned. Our large sausage pizza (extra sausage, extra cheese), was quite flavorful (we enjoy the chewy crust); and left us plenty for another meal at home.We ended with the wonderfully indulgent cinnamon breadsticks (also enough to bring some home). Whereas most places just put cinnamon on top of their breadsticks; here they also roll cinnamon into the breadsticks themselves. AND, then they also provide a side of cinnamon dipping sauce to complete the splurging. All and all, if one wants a great pizza (and breadsticks), at a reasonable price; this place is a solid option.

Food is always good. Good service especially when Mikki is our waitress. They always seat me near the buffet because I'm on crutches.
