Find out what Spanish restaurants to try in South Bend. The 150-year-old University of Notre Dame is South Bend's biggest tourist draw, and for good reason. Though it's not easy to land seats at the 80,000-plus-capacity Notre Dame Stadium for a "Fighting Irish" football game, you'll find plenty of attractions on the beautiful, expansive campus. Highlights include numerous works of art, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, a replica of the famous shrine. Football fans will also want to visit the College Football Hall of Fame, which features interesting perspectives on the game and inductee videos. Whether or not you remember the Studebaker automobile, which saw its demise in the early sixties, you're sure to enjoy the Studebaker National Museum, featuring more than 75 vehicles drawn from the history of the company, beginning with horse-drawn carriages. South Bend has several fine museums, including the South Bend Regional Museum of Art and the Northern Indiana Center for History, a complex of four museums. Don't leave without trying truffles or fudge from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

Tapastrie is a pan-Mediterranean themed restaurant with a moderately priced menu and moderately priced award winning wine list. The informal, vibrant social setting is ideal for either a casual dinner or a special occasion. Our Wine Cellar is perfect for
We grabbed a late bite to eat here after a meeting on a Friday at about 9:15. They made it clear from the beginning that the kitchen was closing at 10, and it seemed like they really didnt want any more customers. I ordered the charcuterie and cheese board which had 5 selections for $26. We chose two meats and three cheese. The portions were a little skimpy considering the price and that I was sharing this with my wife. We eat like this all the time and five selections is usually plenty. To be fair we did not eat the bread that came with the board, and there was a generous amount of it. The wine selection is good and they even have a self serve option where you can try pours of several different wines. I just had a glass of house zin and it was fine. Overall it would have been a better experience if the staff was a little more chill and laid back. I mean, 10 PM on a Friday night isn't the time to be trying to move people along IMHO.Hello GlobalMogul,We're very sorry for your experience feeling rushed and unwelcome at Tapastrie. This is completely antithetical to our philosophy whereby everyone should have the same dining experience, regardless of the time they enter the restaurant. The comments made about the kitchen closing are unacceptable, and this will serve as an instructional example for the service staff. If you are local or nearby, please visit us again so we can welcome you properly and do something to make up for this experience. Let Peggy or Tom know about this if you come back in.Thank you for the feedback and for the positive comments made in spite of the less than adequate hospitality.

I have visited Livery in Indianapolis and jumped at the opportunity to take colleagues here in South Bend. The food was excellent and the drinks were even better! We loved the Chicken Torta and the Mahi Mahi Tacos and the Livery margarita was a hit! Service was excellent, and the inside of the restaurant is super interesting. There is a garage a few doors down that offers 2 hour free parking. So glad I can visit this restaurant in two locations!

In town for the weekend and we had a hankering for some Mexican so we followed the recommendations of the other reviewers. The food was great. The seafood burrito was just what I hoped for. The margaritas were totally awesome. Good menu choices. Worth the trip. Lots of families were eating here. Reasonable prices.
