Reviews on Soups food in South Bend, Indiana, United States. The 150-year-old University of Notre Dame is South Bend's biggest tourist draw, and for good reason. Though it's not easy to land seats at the 80,000-plus-capacity Notre Dame Stadium for a "Fighting Irish" football game, you'll find plenty of attractions on the beautiful, expansive campus. Highlights include numerous works of art, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, a replica of the famous shrine. Football fans will also want to visit the College Football Hall of Fame, which features interesting perspectives on the game and inductee videos. Whether or not you remember the Studebaker automobile, which saw its demise in the early sixties, you're sure to enjoy the Studebaker National Museum, featuring more than 75 vehicles drawn from the history of the company, beginning with horse-drawn carriages. South Bend has several fine museums, including the South Bend Regional Museum of Art and the Northern Indiana Center for History, a complex of four museums. Don't leave without trying truffles or fudge from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

A warm, inviting atmosphere best defines Cafe Navarre. Clearly one of downtown South Bend's most attractive buildings from the exterior, and the view from inside Cafe Navarre is nothing short of breathtaking. The fusion of Old World style architecture wit
The interior of this long ago Bank Building is beautiful, so well done with seamless remodeling. The greatest treats though were the service and the food. The meals are a bit on the pricier side for South Bend, Indiana HOWEVER they are an exceptional VALUE . I had fresh Norwegian trout (not frozen), mussels in an incredible smoky bacon & corn broth that were a true delight to experience. I had a small piece of my trout, cold , for breakfast just now. (it was just too good to leave behind) OH MY, it was again a true taste delight!! Cesar, our waitperson, in answering my query about the origins of the building , finished with "and now it's the best restaurant in S. Bend". I would add: BEST restaurant in any direction , 90 miles from S. Bend.We love that you enjoyed your dining experience with us at Cafe Navarre. It sounds like your meal was invcredible and we strive for perfection in every dish. We hope to see you again soon. Joel GardManager, Cafe Navarre

Just a short walk from the University of Notre Dame is McAlisterâs Deli. Yes, itâs a chain and you order at the counter but the food is fresh and delicious. Menu is vast including sandwiches, salads, soup and baked potatoes. I enjoyed half a BLT w avocado and a small salad. Also they have delicious iced teas, lemonades and desserts. Dining is available inside or outside.

I have been here several times and am never disappointed! The food is always fabulous and the presentation impeccable. I know someone commented about them having rated grandma's pantry, but I think the "cottage chic" mismatched vintage china, teapots, salt and pepper shakers etc., are charming! Don't be turned off by the rather humdrum location and exterior. This is my go-to for lunch with friends or sisters.
