The 150-year-old University of Notre Dame is South Bend's biggest tourist draw, and for good reason. Though it's not easy to land seats at the 80,000-plus-capacity Notre Dame Stadium for a "Fighting Irish" football game, you'll find plenty of attractions on the beautiful, expansive campus. Highlights include numerous works of art, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, a replica of the famous shrine. Football fans will also want to visit the College Football Hall of Fame, which features interesting perspectives on the game and inductee videos. Whether or not you remember the Studebaker automobile, which saw its demise in the early sixties, you're sure to enjoy the Studebaker National Museum, featuring more than 75 vehicles drawn from the history of the company, beginning with horse-drawn carriages. South Bend has several fine museums, including the South Bend Regional Museum of Art and the Northern Indiana Center for History, a complex of four museums. Don't leave without trying truffles or fudge from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

Drove from NW Indiana to get my Pizza King fix. First, the breadstick were NOT the hand-made sticks with the delicious buttery sauce. They were breadsticks probably from Gordon's w no flavor. My pizza was overcooked. Service was good but I'll probably drive to Angola for the real Pizza King experience next time.

Ambiance is quaint with genuine small town America feel. Pizza was good; service was excellent. Bottled beer and wine (Barefoot brand only) selections are limited. Waitstaff are very pleasant, friendly, and efficient. Signs posted say there is a Polish buffet option on Thursday afternoons. Location is a 2-minute drive from downtown.

Two of us went on a Saturday evening and suprisingly we did not haveto wait but were seated immediately. Sometimes that is a red flag aboutthe place - but not this time. There were other families in the place orderingmeals. But we ordered the Pizza Supreme thin crust. We did not have to wait long and the pizza was good - very tasty.Big mug of beer and a large glass of Soda.I would go again for pizzaAZ

Good pizza that is much better than your typical pizza hut/papa johns big bix stores. For anyone who is local this is a perfect example if Bruno's and Barnabys hooked up and made a pizza. It is an exact cross of both of them which is a great combination.

Corner of Jefferson & Michigan. Downtown South Bend
We stopped at Bruno's Pizza for lunch. What we liked was that there were some lunch pizza specials. The pizza slices tasted good, though like all pizzas that are out, they are not nearly as good as their freshly made and eaten pizzas. The price was reasonable, the staff was friendly and the restaurant was very well-kept.

We stopped for here on a road trip from Wisconsin back home to Pittsburgh. So glad we did. The pizza and salad were outstanding! Mike and family are wonderful people who made us feel at home as soon as we walked in the door. We will definitely be coming back.

Being from Western New York, we think we have the best pizza, so we weren't expecting too much when we stopped here for takeout on our way back from Colorado. Were we surprised! The pizza was delicious! My husband couldn't stop raving about it. Thin crust with just the right amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. It was 16 inches and we expected to take some home, but we ate the whole thing!

This isn't deep dish, table service, highbrow pizza. This is more like Subway, hot and fast pizza, but pretty good. I had Italian meatball and black olives with the thicker crust. My daughter and her friend had standard crust pepperoni and pepperoni and green pepper. With 3 fountain drinks, it was a bit over $30 for the three of us, which isn't exactly cheap, but the personal pizzas are bigger than I expected and we ended up taking a couple of pieces of each one home for later. The lemonade selection was really good with 5-6 options. I had a good root beer myself. Would go back.

South Bend's favorite pizza
I personally love the atmosphere of rustic noisy pub restaurants. I ordered the fish sandwich and it was great. Most of my friends got pizza and it also looked delicious. The prices were pretty good and there were plenty of vegetarian options as well! Service was a bit slow but we were also there at the peak of dinnertime. We had a group of 8 and all of our food came out at different times, but it wasn't a huge deal to us. If I'm ever in South Bend again I will definitely return!
