Things to do in Meghalaya
This is a good place to have lunch considering the prices and variety. We liked this place very much.
I visited this restaurant attached to the iconic Pinewood hotel after a long time. I am happy to report that the restaurant has actually improved over time. The decor is more contemporaray, food better and the services impeccable. We were bowled over by the Indian food like khichadi, Dal makhani(they actually put makhani in the lentil),etc. although the restaurant is known for the continental cuisine. The restaurant officially closes about 9.30 pm or thereabouts. But if you plan to spend some time at the bar nearby and then eat food the friendly waiters will ensure that provided you place your order for food in advance. The only complaint is that despite my repeated requests they could not serve me chicken in the local style although these dishes feature in the menu.
Its a small warm bistro among the many restaurants in town, yet the food on offer is a delight to the taste buds. Authentic Thai, Chinese and Continental cuisine will leave you gasping for more. Try the lobsters and prawns.....absolutely delightful and a must for all serious foodies.

We went for New Years dinner here. There was live music, of mediocre quality, nice drinks and decent food. Felt good, but a little underwhelming, given the beautiful heritage building it has, they could create a better atmosphere

On the main road laitumkhrah, there is only one restaurant near Don Bosco circle that is made of Bamboo and has little parking area as well. We tried roll and Shwarma. The Labanese Shwarma they made was really worth trying. They take time in making their order but they serve hot and fresh. RecommendedNote: Labanese Shwarma and Burgers highly recommended

Heritage Building build since the British Raj.. Has a Cafe and Inn...Located at the Shillong-Cherrapunjee Highway at Mawkdok Village
Reception and restaurant is a renovated British inspection bungalow in good condition and tastefully decorated (for Christmas for our visit). Rooms in cottages are clean and comfortable with small living area, bedroom and bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities. Heaters and electric blanket. Rooms just not well insulated for noise so can hear neighbors talking inside and out. Staff cheerful and helpful.Restaurant has an east Asian theme - noodles and Chinese rice dishes. Not traditional Indian. Good and tasty though some dishes quite spicy.Happy with our stay just that it is not that close to Cherrapunji itself so still need to drive 30min or more to get to sights in Cherrapunji.
