Reviews on Central European food in Kutaisi, Imereti Region, Georgia. Kutaisi (Georgian: ქუთაისი [kʰutʰɑisi]; ancient names: Aea/Aia, Kotais, Kutatisi, Kutaïsi) is the legislative capital of Georgia, and its 3rd most populous city. Situated 221 kilometres (137 miles) west of Tbilisi, on the Rioni River, it is the capital of the western region of Imereti. Historically one of the major cities of Georgia, it served as the capital of the Kingdom of Georgia in the Middle Ages, and later as the capital of the Kingdom of Imereti. The Parliament of Georgia moved to Kutaisi in 2012, in an effort to both acknowledge the status of the city, and to decentralise the Georgian government.

Restaurant Kalakuri located in suburb of Kutaisi, so it's better to reach restaurant by taxi. Delighting the eyes with lush greenery, a fountain with flowing water, surrounding picturesque setting â a miracle paradise â a fantastic corner for the newlyweds and guests. Restaurant is designed for major celebrations, large weddings, business meetings, conferences and dinners, but there are alsi small separate halls for 10 or 20 persons as well. Foods are great, you can enjoy folk music as well.

Lovely place with excellent food and service and good atmosphere. The call buttons for service on the tables are a great idea (hadnât seem them before). We had the giant grilled vegetable platter (of which we managed to eat 2/3s), plus ice cream for dessert. My only quibbles are the loud music and the comfortable but low chairs, too low for the tables. But those didnât detract from the food and service.

Turned up and decided to eat outside as it was smoky indoors. The menus were in English and the waitress spoke great English as well. The food was good and plentiful and the wine was of a high calibre as well. Great wee spot for some lunch.

Wondering around the centre I came across this cozy looking restaurant. The friendly waiter invited me in, I looked at the limited menu and decided to give it a go. About 6 tables, all empty, and no one else came in for the next hour I was there. The waiter was very professional and helpful. Limited main courses for lunch so I ordered the stew (12 lara) and pot of mushrooms (8) bread (2.50) beer (3). Food arrived piping hot in about 15min and the mushrooms went well with the stew. Big mistake in ordering the stew because obviously it was not freshly made. I had not eating anything all morning except cup of coffee and toast. Returning back to hotel I felt upset stomach, laid on the bed fell asleep and woke up to be sick and in pain. Was there something bad in the stew, certainly not the mushrooms. Next time order something that has to be prepared that day.Restaurant was very cozy and maybe at night time is packed. Total cost 25.50 lara, good value for money. I should have stuck to my policy of eating at places that has lots of locals.Hello! We sorry about you for such awkward situation. We can guarantee that the dish was fresh made on the day as usually any other dishes, but in Georgian dishes and in particular Megrelian stew is made with many walnuts and Georgian spices. Sometimes a similar combination is hard to work for some organism.

You'll enjoy the excellent Georgian-European kitchen, very big choice of drinks and especially wines, really comfortable situation and live music. seats are placed in a main hall, in terrace and in the garden.
I loved this restaurant. There's a large garden out the front, but on the day we visited it was raining so we sat in a conservatory at the front. It was so good that we visited twice. The food is beautiful and the portions are huge. I'm not known to leave food behind but couldn't finish my chicken and bacon Caesar salad. Earlier in the day I also had Ojakhuri with chicken. Beautiful. The beer was cold and delicious, the local stuff less than half the price of Krombacher and just as good. On the Saturday we were there, there was live music. The piano player was a maestro. It's very rare to see and hear such a player. I would pay good money to go and see this guy. Finally, the location is great and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Welcome, aura bar-restaurant, we invite you in the family environment, with the best Georgian and European cuisine, with varied Georgian wines. Also with the best cocktails and hookah.
We had a lovely time here! We were desperate to have hinkali and after unsuccessful tries we found Aura. Vakho made our visit very special, we were recommended a delicious schmeruli dish which Georgians enjoyed for hundreds of years. Of course hinkali was beautiful, i had 6, but could probably eat a whole tray! Really loved the traditional salad with walnuts, cucumbers and tomatoes, even repeated the order. Also weâve got a special treat, homemade wine by Vakho! Such a joyful evening! Thank you Vakho and Aura team!

Wow this place, service and food are wonderful. I read a few reviews before heading out to hunt for a lunchtime restaurant and thought this place sounded great. Well we were not disappointed, the venue is clean, waitstaff attentive and spoke English and the food and wine was fabulous. Highly recommend this place for a Georgian lunch in Kutaisi.
