Enjoyed our dinner at Makisu! I ordered the Salmon Teriyaki and it was delicious! The sauteed veggies which accompanied the entree were beautifully presented and excellent tasting as well. Other dinners ordered included Chicken Teriyaki, Scallop Crab Cake and the Tempura Small Plates - everyone was very happy. Miso Soup is included with the entrees.

Went here for 2nd time recently when I was back in the Chicago area. This place has an enormous menu and everything is good - must be over 100 choices at least. Visited with some family at my request since it was so good last time. I was again not disappointed. I had the Mapo Tofu which I had enjoyed in Nanjing, China. It was made different here with more sauce and silky tofu, but still very good. They are able to prepare dishes that are not spicy, as some of our party don't like hot food. Also able to kick it up to your desire. Everything was delicious. Salt and pepper scallop was delicious. I highly recommend Lao Sze Chuan and plan to go back next time I'm in town. Don't miss it! Also reasonably priced with nice sized dishes.

Shakou Restaurants feature striking architecture, stylish decor, sumptuous cuisine and high-touch service to create a unique dining experience that's miles ahead of any other, yet close to home. Fresh-daily ingredients and striking visual presentation cre
My husband and I are âregularsâ at Shakou because of the high quality sushi and excellent, friendly service from each and every server. Cocktails are generous and delicious - great saki selections! Appetizers are big enough to share. Love the ahi tartar and sea star! We stick to the sushi rolls, but other dishes look amazing as well. You know a good sushi roll when it is generously filled with very fresh fish and seafood and not made up of mostly rice - that is exactly what you get at Shakou. The Signature rolls are outstanding! Some of our favorites include Niku Niku (steak instead of seafood - really good!), Urban Heat, and Volcano roll. Save room for tasty desserts as well!Thank you for the 5 Star Review and sharing your #ShakouExperience! #ExperienceShakou

Great service! Fresh raw fish. I recommend as a reasonable place to enjoy sushi in the area. They were very patient with the amount of time we spent there. Did well with checking-in and refilling our water and hot tea. Down-side the rice that came with my sashimi combo was on the border of tasting like it was a bit too old. The rolls were yummy and nicely wrapped tight. They did seem to have a few repeat customers that come in for pick-up. I'd come here again if looking for sushi and in the area.

We are regulars of this authentic Japanese Restaurant. We seen major changes from this place from their expansion and changes of their personnel, and yet we are still a loyal patron. Though through time their portion servings seems to adjust we are economy the taste of their food remained to same - its exquisite. As you walked in they greet you in Japanese, courteously bring you to your table, answers your questions and after that authentic Japanese meal they send you a friendly vibes in Japanese.

The food and service are excellent.I really should have brought a crew of friends to help me eat the bistro burger -- it is HUGE!Remodeling is almost complete. The remaining projects are putting in a new floor and replacing the chairs. Personally I find the renovation somber rather than tranquil (which is what I think they were going for), but I come for the food, not the ambiance. The fireplace is a lovely addition.plenty of parking

I moved out of the US nearly 10 years ago, but whenever I go home I visit Dempster Fish. I always know I'm going to get great value for money, and good sushi. I'm always recognised when I go, and the lovely lady who runs Dempster Fish always asks me how I'm doing, how long I will be in town...it's a nice welcome home. The sushi is of good quality, and always very fresh. The rice is really well done too, which is so often not the case in places like this. You can sit down and eat here, but it is more of a take out place. But, if you're looking for an excellent meal in a casual setting, this is a good place to go. Otherwise, bring it back to your house, hotel room, apartment, and create the ambiance yourself! You're still going to end up with some wonderful food.

Our favorite place for sushi. I enjoy the atmosphere - comfortable and lively, but not so loud that you canât carry a conversation. Food is consistently good but on more than one occasion, when the restaurant is busier, the service has been below average. Servers are always friendly but it seems as though they canât keep up with the traffic. Most recently, we were seated for more than five minutes before our server introduced herself. Drinks took too long to show up and we had to flag her down for another round. Same deal trying to get and then pay the bill. She did the best she could (and with a smile) but poor service has been the rule lately rather than the exception.

We were really impressed with the service and food! The steak was so tender and served cubed on a sushi platter. We loved the different play on mainstream entrees. We will be back!
