Perched on the bluffs overlooking the mighty Mississippi, Quincy's landmark architecture, dogwood-lined streets and rolling green parks tell of a long and tiered history. Its location on the border of Missouri made it an ideal station point for the Underground Railroad, once in the aid of Mormons and later helping African Americans flee the slave states. Now the city's history is evident in its historic districts, architecture, museums, parks and landmarks.
Things to do in Quincy
Why would anyone stand in line for a burrito that is stuffed with rice to make you think you're getting a lot of food? Plus you pay extra for everything- chips, etc. For less money, you can be seated at a Mexican restaurant (3 good ones in town, including one directly across the street!), enjoy free unlimited chips and salsa, be served a nice hot meal with real plates and silverware, and spend less money? It's a complete mystery to me how this place manages to stay in business. The food is overpriced and doesn't compare at all to the Mexican restaurants in town. Go figure!

This little restaurant is a clean place, has pleasant servicers and good Mexican fast food. If the food was just brought up a notch or so, it would be one of my favorites, but as is, has pretty decent food. It has some specials and if you are in a hurry you can use their drive through. We mainly use it for a quick, inexpensive lunch. They have a terrific Mexican salad.

Maya has always been the best place in the area for Mexican food. It has gone down hill a tad in service and in portion size and quality. It is sad. We used to eat there twice a week and now only go about once every few months. The portion size is much smaller. The meals that have onions in them, have a ton of onions and very little meat or other veges. If a meal comes with cheese sauce, you get very little. If you ask for it on the side, you no longer get a bowl, you get a tiny sample cup of it. The servers have changed and are not as friendly. Manny is the only good one left.
It's relatively new and off the main drag, so people probably don't know about it yet. The service is good, and the food is unique to this area. There are other more popular places in town, and their food is good as well, but Los Molcajetes has different variety than what most Mexican restaurants have.

We've been here twice in the last week. The chimichanga is wonderful and comes with everything; beans, guacamole, rice, sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes. It's a perfect combo. The fajitas are very large even for lunch. The chips and salsa are typical and addicting. I recommend you get a plate to share. I will finish mine tomorrow for lunch!

We took a family of friends to this restaurant, because it was one of their favorites. While I do prefer a different Mexican restaurant in Quincy, this one does have its appeal. Authentic cuisine, authentic decor. There are several children in the family, and they all enjoy the place themselves. The waitstaff are kid-friendly, you could say. I was there on a Sunday afternoon, after the lunch crowd. Reasonably quiet.

Your experience starts with hot chips and salsa, can you get any better than that. We ordered a Jeff's Special and the pizza was filled with toppings. Plus they cut the slices into squares for easy to hold deliciousness. I recommend it for anyone in the area.
