We don't eat much fast food, but when traveling it can be nice to stop for a quick breakfast or lunch. We stopped here for breakfast. Hardee's tends to have more options and better food than many of their competition in terms of breakfast. My wife and I found the restaurant to be extremely clean. Service was quick, but not immediate. The staff brought our food to us and let us take our drinks to the table. (Believe it or not, I've actually had a fast food joint not give me my coffee while I waited for breakfast in the past.) The food was prepared fresh so it was worth the short wait. Not only was it fresh, but it was very good and represented a great value. My wife and I had a quick and satisfying breakfast for a total of $8.15. We're glad we stopped.

The "Fairway" restaurant at the Monticello Golf Club is just delightful. Luke Kennedy, the new chef/manager, hasn't served anything that we didn't love so far. Flavor combinations and unique creations offer larger metro area cuisine in small town USA.The Spring Greens salad is a summer staple. A large outdoor patio allows guests to enjoy the view of the golf course while sipping a cocktail or enjoying your meal. Very satisfying and enjoyable.

We read about Bergie’s on TripAdvisor and decided to try it on a Sunday morning. What a lovely surprise! Set on the courthouse square, it is a small unassuming place that serves excellent food! The server was very pleasant and attentive but the food was the star of the visit. Each in our group had something different and everyone praised their selection. The horseshoe was reported to be excellent, the vegetable omelet was very tasty, generous and the biscuit was just wonderful, the pecan pancakes were great and the German pancake was reported to be outstanding. We will definitely be back - but be aware that they are only open on weekends. Not a problem to us as we will adjust our plans to accommodate their schedule because we liked it so much!Wow - thanks so much for your kind words and I'm glad to hear your group took a tour of the menu! We look forward to seeing you again!

The hardwood tables and stained glass windows offer a unique atmosphere. My salmon was delicious, not a huge portion. The portion of mashed potatoes with lumps was generous and they were delicious! No other veggie came with this meal. I would recommend this restaurant because I think people need to support something that is different than a chain restaurant. Those with a larger appetite would want to add an appetizer or dessert. Those who drink beer might prefer the hamburgers.

Three Ravens Food and Spirits

The Three Ravens in Monticello, IL is a good place to relax with supper and a couple of drinks after a long day.

Reviewed By NeenaIL

We have long known of the Three Ravens Pub and their good reputation, but had never gotten around to trying it in the past. We live about 35 miles from Monticello but we get there a few times a year to shop. This day after shopping the Holiday Showcase at Allerton House and Out of the Blue Pottery we decided this was where we would go. Our experienced waiter was a high school student who was clearly in theatre. (I suspect if the legend is true he’s also kissed the Barney Stone). He was very sweet and entertaining and gave us many laughs through our visit. How lucky were we? Now about the food. I had the Haminator, a ham, bacon, cheese sandwich and the ham was just delicious. The fries were usual crinkle fries but cooked to perfection. Being there during an off time the dining room was quiet, but the bar was hopping. The place has comfortable seating and nice pub theme decor. What an enjoyable experience it was and for me it’s all about first impressions. I can’t wait to return and really hope to get the same waiter.

Prices are most reasonable and the counter service is personable and helpful. The chocolate cream pie I consumed was ridiculously delicious!Don’t hesitate to choose The Brown Bag if you are hungry and in the Monticello area. Highly recommended.
