I am a frequent patron of various Chili's restaurants because my son has severe food allergies. Specifically, he is allergic to milk, eggs, beef, butter, nuts and fish. But by some miracle, none of those things are in Chili's original BBQ ribs. He can't have any other of the sides except for mandarin oranges, so we get him two servings of that. Furthermore, he can have none of the appetizers with the exception of the chips and salsa and believe me, he eats an full serving of it each time we go. We've never had a mishap at a Chili's one single time and for that, they will have my undying business. The service is typically solid no matter where we go. But for some reason, my entire family has noticed that the tortilla chips that they make at the location at 75th Street and Lemont Road in Downers Grove are 100% of the time OVER cooked. Both the color, the flavor and the texture of the chips are different from EVERY OTHER location that we have been to (about 20, nationally over the years). I guess I never really thought about it until last night when he said something about it and I have to agree.....the tortilla chips are both excessively greasy and overcooked....but ONLY at this location. It's probably just us being ridiculous since we have nothing but good things to say about Chili's in general since a couple things are friendly to my son. But this one thing alone takes this particular location down from VERY GOOD overall to a little bit less than that.

This place is easy to reach. There are better places in Pilsen, but they're in Pilsen--traffic, hard to find parking, and then you have to drive a long time to get back home. They don't mind children, which is also a bonus. The service is attentive, and anyway, the counter is so close, you can get up and ask if you want something. The menu isn't too extensive, but they have the basic staples, and they have breakfast (even for dinner). I've been happy with the tacos, shrimp soup, steak tampequena, chicken mole (although the steak tampequena & chicken mole I've had better in Pilsen). Only drawback is no alcohol, even if you bring your own. Will definitely come back though. Service is always very friendly, and it's not noisy, and tables aren't packed together, so it's always a pleasant experience.

I have been coming here for years and everything is outstanding if you love authentic Mexican food. The tacos are incredible but if you are looking for something different you got to try the tortas. The enchiladas Diablo is very spicy but at the same time delicious. True Mexican Coca Cola and Jaritos in the bottle along with a nice selections of tequilas to help wash it all down. This place is small but well worth it!
This restaurant has moved across the street and they call themselves the Crazy Burrito. My son and I ordered enchiladas and a Chimichanga for take out. My sons Chimichanga was soggy with cheese that was congealed and slid off when he cut into it, my enchiladas were not much better...I think they used mozzarella on Mexican food. After requesting a new meal by phone and agreeing to a meal replacement, they decided it was his fault for ordering improperly and wanted to charge him for replacement after driving back. At this point he decided it was not worth wasting another $9 on a poorly prepared meal. I can not believe that a restaurant in this competitive climate would not want to satisfy a customer. When I called the manager he stated that he deals with this "stuff" all the time. I asked him if he meant complaints....Long story short: He told me his sales were up and he didn't need my business and then proceeded to hang up on me. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Friendly and familial, welcomed warmly seated quickly. Margaritas were excellent, made with real lime juice. Food was slightly above average and portions were plentiful. Service was leisurely but good.

The is formerly El Burrito Loco. Donât know why they changed their name when they moved. They have been overhauling the menu somewhat and upgrading the decor of the restaurant. Very busy on Friday lunch. When you see Mexican families dining inside, you recognize that the food is authentic.

My husband had carne asada. It was okay, not great. I had chicken enchiladas with verde sauce. The chicken had no apparent seasoning and the salsa verde was nothing special. Rice and beans were pretty tasteless. The margarita was good. We won't be going back.

New location.
We had a great meal here on a busy Friday night. Everything was delicious, from start to finish. To start, they offer three dips of varying heat to go with tortilla chips. They also offer a selection of mole, which we really liked. The margaritas were very good as well. I had, for a main course, the carne Asada and it was delicious. No room for dessert, so that will have to come next time. Highly recommended!
