Owners Brian & Kathryn Loprino, veteran restaurateurs opened their first Public House Restaurant in 2003. By holding true to their creed - Exceptional Food - Great Spirits! They opened an additional location in 2008 serving Crystal Lake.
I have enjoyed eating lunch and dinner at the Public house. I enjoy the fish tacos. They offer gluten pasta. It is difficult to eat vegan here though unless you want just a salad. They offer six soups but only one is gluten free. They offer fresh fish options. They have great staff. Thank you for your review, we are happy to hear that you enjoy dining with us. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Stopped here for lunch with our friend. Beautiful tin ceilings, gorgeous polished wooden bar, and nostalgic photos adorn the place. After all, it is the oldest tavern in McHenry County! It is a small place with outside tables and inside high top tables; the food is delicious. We ordered Philly Steak, Bacon cheddar Chicken sandwich, and Hamburgers. Just watch out because fries are an extra charge. There are appetizers, wraps, and pizza also on the menu. Daily specials are posted on the wall. Ladies, make sure you visit the ladies room-several lovely photos are in there!

Their phone number is 815-923-2000. They have American and German cuisines.
After a day in Chicago and returning to the KOA we stopped at this restaurant per recommendation from KOA. We were not disappointed. A very nice restaurant with cordial staff. Nice seating allowances with good food and drinks. If in area, it is worth the ~ $16 average per meal. Enjoy the patio or eat in with a very nice gazebo.

Trio Grille is the perfect location in Marengo for working lunches or family-friendly dining. Minutes away from the Wild West Town and the Illinois Railway Museum. We are the perfect place to cool off and enjoy great food. Need space for your next party o
Who knew that a bowling alley could also have a fine dining establishment? The Trio Grille is spectacularly clean, airy, and modern with a very friendly and attentive staff. The menu has a fine range of appetizers, hand heads, pizzas and entrees. There are also Daily specials with the most popular being the Friday Fish Fry and Saturday Prime Rib. The food is great! This is no where and no way the usual greasy fast food bowling alley fareâ-itâs fine dining. My husband had the ribeye steak, cooked to order with zucchini and real mashed potatoes on the side and I had a crispy ham and two cheese panini with homemade chips. Both were delicious! We also shared the Brown Cow cheesecake dessert-chocolate cheesecake inside white chocolate cheesecake with lovely piping and sauce. And a clever and nice touch with the bowling pin pepper grinder for our salads. Thereâs a full service bar and plenty of TVs (the Belmont races were on while we were there) and an outdoor patio with live music. By the way, you donât hear the bowling while youâre in the restaurant. Worth the drive to Marengo!

I had the best cream of mushroom soup at Pointer's Saloon that I've had that wasn't made at home. I also enjoy there fried green beans on a monthly basis. You can't really go wrong here, the wait staff and food are always up to snuff. The ONLY item on the menu that I find disappointing, is the chopped sirloin. The seasonings are right in the gravy.

We stopped here on our route 20 run to Galena. Tasty food and friendly staff. Enjoyed the Mediterranean chicken wrap with wonderful waffle fries (better than Chick-fil-A). The steak sandwich was also very good.My wife is gluten free that they worked very well with her on her BLT. The owner later came over to ask about the GF bread, very much appreciated. A solid stop. Pizza looked great...
