My daughter and I decided to try this place and were happy we did. All of our choices were favorable and portions were good size - enough for leftovers. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will try it again.

Finding Soi 2 along Rock Island's 2nd Avenue pedestrian plaza takes some determination & looking for their overhead hanging sign, but it's well worth the search. The front dining/bar area of Soi 2 look like a small bar & grill, but continue toward the kitchen & restrooms at the back of the narrow storefront and you'll find an elevated dining area across from a line of intimate two-person booths with whimsical dividers & pleasant colors. My wife & I were seated in one of those booths for our first visit. We were greeted & seated & served by very friendly and attentive staff members. The menu is rather large, with enough variety to suit dedicated Thai food lovers as well as diners more familiar & comfortable with standard Asian fusion cuisine. My wife chose a simple lunch of the crab rangoon appetizer, which she enjoyed very much. I started with a small bowl of their Tom Yum Soup, which was very aromatic & tasty. For my entree, I fought my inclination of ordering Pad Thai (my go-to Thai dish) and got their house recipe Mango Chicken in the lunch serving size. There was plenty of tender chicken, the sweetness of the tender chunks of mango were well balanced against the slivers of sauteed peppers & onions, and the special sweet & sour sauce was mildly spicy to enhance the flavors of the dish. The presentation of this unique combination was further enhanced by the ingredients being served in the scooped out half-skin of the mango.I've been waiting a couple of years to try Soi 2 on one of our semi-annual trips to the Quad Cities, in the meantime checking in on the owners' Facebook posts to follow the growth of their business plans & menu selections. My wife & I were very pleased with our initial experience, and we will definitely return on a future visit to the area to enjoy some of their other Northern Thai dishes

Nice friendly staff and well cooked food, whatâs not to like?Started with the heavenly shrimp. There were four pieces and the concept of wrapping shrimp in noodles with a dipping sauce is a nice twist. Three out of the four shrimp had their tails removed. A 750 batting average is very good, but not perfect. The chicken ginger stir fry was excellent as was the Pad Ma Muang Gai.Would recommend this restaurant.

The dishes are always vibrant and tasty. Never gets boring. There are enough options for vegetarians. Veggie chicken (flavored Tofu) is worth trying. Warning: you may get hooked on to it.

My go to spot when I am feeling some authentic Asian flavors. I enjoy the chicken or shrimp fried rice and the Shrimp in a Blanket and Lettuce Wrap are the best app/side choice. Service has always been good and the environment clean.
