Legendary Food, Legendary Service
Our birthday girl chose this place as it is her favorite place. I have avoided this place for years due to the constantly crowded parking lot. Our party of 10 had a reservation for 7PM on a Saturday night. As expected, the parking lot was full but we found a place in the back. As we entered there must have been 50 or more people waiting for tables in the entrance and the bar was packed also. Found our group and waited about 30 minutes for other parties to vacate table. Once seated we were greeted by super friendly staff. Through out the night they were very attentive. Our birthday celebrant is a frequent guest and several other servers and the manager checked on us. My wife and I had studied the menu posted on line and enjoyed a perfectly prepared prime rib dinner. The green beans were a bit spicy for our taste buds. It was loud and noisy here but that is the ambiance of the place where you throw peanut shells on the floor.

I took my son, wife and mother to Jim's at noon time for Mother's day. Reviews were generally very positive and I wanted a special place to take my wife and mother.First the good, the venue is quite enjoyable with many photos and pictures on the walls. The service was also very good. Waitress attentive and helper kept water glasses and dirty table ware removed very timely. Unfortunately that is where the good ended. We accepted the drink special which was a Blueberry Mojito. I know Mojitos, was on a 7 day tour in Puerto Rico in winter and trolled for the best Mojitos. I also have had many Mojitos in Cuba. Jim's was way to sweet and could not taste any rum. I ask the waitress to hold the blueberries and cut the sugar in half and double the mint on the second round. Drinks came with blueberries and only slightly less sweet than the original round. Salads were good, blue cheese dressing was creamy garlic with blue cheese crumbles and salad had a nice mix of vegetables. My whole family agreed the entrees were at the best mideocre. Flavors were very institutional. Au Gratin potatoes seemed to be prepared with Velveeta. None of the entrees had distinctive flavor and I could have improved all I tasted with minimal additions. Overall a very disappointing meal.

Two25 is a polished casual restaurant located in the Mark Twain hotel of downtown Peoria. Our signature dinner entrees include a broiled New York Strip served with classic Gratin Dauphinois - a 30 layer potato gratin, a Dijon Crusted Salmon, and a rich Se
Continued to use this restaurant a lot in 2018 including lunch for the first time in awhile. I forgot how great the salad bar was ... helps so you don't eat quite so much of the delicious pizza. But dinner's are the main event. Always great food (okay the Tarragon Chicken was too heavy on the tarragon) but the salmon is always good with those mashed potatoes, the sea bass as good as I have had and perfectly cooked, and the filet with the au gratin are fantastic. Everytime we have had excellent service from all the waitstaff including the server and helper who was always there filling the water glasses, etc. Drinks always good as well. Each room has its own charm. Just a great restaurant, well managed, with long-time staff.

If you like fried chicken or catfish, this is the best Sunday dinner offered in Peoria. The chicken is lightly coated and served with mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, and salad. They also serve amazing steaks and sandwiches. The Blue Burger is also a favorite. Because it is a small and intimate venue, you must make reservations. Outdoor seating is available as are carryout. We are becoming regulars...always on Sundays.

We planned a couples trip to Peoria and decided to try Alexander's Steakhouse....what a mistake. Our waitress was very forgetful, we didn't get our drinks until we had been there 20+ minutes. She forgot the grilled onions, and the steak fries. The calamari was awful, rubbery, over breaded and the breading tasted like it had gone bad....such a disappointment. My main complaint though is if your restaurant's main claim is you can cook your own steaks or pay $2 to have the chef cook them yout should maybe disclose that to your customers upfront instead of hiding that in small print at the bottom of the menu. We will not be back and we will make sure to tell friends to avoid this place! Very sad we wasted our time and money going here.
