Restaurant chains and hotel restaurants used to have negative reputations, like cold pizza or warm beer. No longer. In our travels from coast to coast, my wife and I have been impressed with the quality of chain restaurants, especially steakhouses, and hotel restaurants. One of the best chains is Ruth's Chris Steak House. Founded in 1965, Ruth's Chris has over 130 locations across the United States and has established itself as the largest luxury steakhouse chain in number of locations, operating income and overall profit. In other words, a lot of people like the product. Unfortunately, there are only five Ruth's Chris locations in the Chicago area. One is at 933 Skokie Boulevard in the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel in north suburban Northbrook. It offers an elegant and comfortable setting, impeccable service and a menu sure to please every steak lover. We started with lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail and Caesar salad. For entrees, there is nothing comparable to a Ruth's Chris steak, sizzling, butter-topped beef, as in an eight-ounce filet and an 11-ounce filet. With baked potatoes and creamed spinach. For dessert, we shared a plate of Ruth Chris' signature creme brulee, consisting of classic Creole egg custard topped with fresh berries and mint, and white chocolate bread pudding. One of these times we're going to have to sample the 40-ounce porterhouse for two. At Ruth's Chris, there's always something to enjoy.

Wildfire's website says that their dining experience is meant to feel special. This is evident in the classy atmosphere of the restaurant as well as in the incredible quality of the food!Appetizers:The goat cheese and pesto pizza is really special! Complemented by mushrooms and arugula, it is flavorful with a thin crust. It comes out piping hot from a 600 degree oven.Entrees:The open-faced Mediterranean salmon sandwich is just right; filling but refreshing at the same time with the zesty seasoning of savory yogurt. My mom and grandmother got the French Dip sandwich and the BBQ chicken, respectively. They both raved about their orders.Dessert: The flourless chocolate cake and the warm cookie are both unbelievably good (see pictures)!!!This is the best restaurant in Glenview. We were really impressed with the service and food! The steak was so tender and served cubed on a sushi platter. We loved the different play on mainstream entrees. We will be back!

We enjoyed a fabulous business dinner at EJâs Place. There were over fifteen in our party and the service was good and efficient. Most folks ordered steaks and I didnât hear any complaints. My Filet was cooked medium rare and paired well with the Prisoner (a Napa Valley Blend).

Located in downtown Evanston, the original Pete Miller's was founded in 1994 as a tribute to the late Harold "Pete" Miller. The restaurant celebrates his favorite things; swingin' jazz, a good honest drink & a great steak. Join us for dinner or a friend
Had a great visit. The music was wonderful and the staff very friendly. The steaks were of great quality and flavored very well. My steak was grossly overcooked though. I was in a group and did not want to send it back. I ordered medium rare and it was served medium well and was well done and dry before I could finish it.
