Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Gurnee. Gurnee, midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, is probably best known as the home of Six Flags Amusement Park and the Gurnee Mills shopping outlet. Now Midwesterners looking for a little rest and relaxation can sample the town's top attraction, the KeyLime Cove hotel and water park, which also features a spa, shopping and six restaurants.

What a surprise. Wife and I ate at AHA last night. Service was excellent. Server explained items on their more than adequate menue. Our App and orders arrived quickly. The Ahi Poke was great. Kamakazi Rolls were spectacular. Very Reasonably priced for what you get. What a gem. I guess their name is appropriate. AHA

My mother is Japanese. After trying Japanese restaurants in the northern suburbs, she prefers Hayashi. The sushi chef has been at this restaurant for decades & never disappoints. We ordered a big sushi plate for a backyard party & it was the first dish to disappear. We've ordered most of the dishes over the past 20 years & the fish is always fresh. Plus their tempura is the best ever; the closest I've had was in Japan. This restaurant is on Grand Avenue in a strip mall setting. So, it's not romantic setting. It's also somewhat small. There are always people picking up carry-out dishes. They have a nice sushi bar but have small tables. If in a group, I would only recommend no more than 6.

It's in an odd location; we passed the lot entrance and the building is nondescript. Beyond that, though, you get a variety of sushi options to choose from. The atmosphere is sophisticated but casual, the service was quick, and the food was really good.We tried a variety of rolls: Playgirl, Waukegan, Spicy Salmon and one other. All were very good; we'd get them again if we're in the area for dinner. The other couple at our table enjoyed the sushi burritos.Pricing is typical of sushi restaurants.

Convenient location - across parking lot from the Hampton. I ate here with a coworker. We both had the all you can eat sushi. The service was prompt and courteous. The food wasn't bad, just not the best sushi I have ever had. The one thing I think they could improve is the rice (It was dense and took over every roll). Overall it is an economical not bad convenient sushi location. I would return.
Located in Gurnee Mills in the Dine-O-Rama Food Court, Little Tokyo is one of several restaurants located there. There is plenty of seating and there are restrooms very nearby. We tried the bourbon chicken and it was tasty. The staff was friendly and efficient.
