French-American Bistro, serving Classic Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily from 7am - 10pm...Sunday Brunch, from 11am - 3pm, with Live Jazz.
My wife and I dined at the Hemingway Bistro for our wedding anniversary. We almost always dine at the Hemingway Bistro when weâre visiting Oak Park.Food: superb! We were there on a Tuesday night and my wife enjoyed the lobster special. My dish was jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon. Both dishes were scrumptious. The cuisine is primarily French themed.Service: courteous and professional. We felt welcomed and at ease while dining. The staff was attentive to the clearing the table, refilling our beverages, and checking in on us when appropriate.Decor: romantic dining; excellent choice for a special occasion. However, formal attire (jackets / cocktail dresses are not needed). The general attire is business casual.Price: expensive, but worth every penny for this delightful restaurant. Dinner for two with two appetizers, two main, one dessert, four drinks, and tip was a bit under $200.Overall: I would highly recommend the Hemingway Bistro if youâre in Oak Park and looking for fine dining!

Went to Jolly Inn after visiting Galos Caves (right next door - same building). I believe the Inn and Caves are owned by the same people. I think. Nevertheless, great Polish buffet - fantastic potato pancakes and pierogis. Starts off with complimentary soup and ends with ice cream. Really enjoyed the food.

The Little Gem Restaurant is a relaxed fine dining experience. This European Style Eatery is Romantic, Elegant and Fun!
Stopped in at 1:00 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. The decor is warm and inviting. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast. Servers were friendly and attentive. We were not rushed...actually food arrived a bit longer wait than most places but the Eggs Benedict was delicious. Free parking just steps away in the public parking lot.
This restaurant recently opened near our place. We visited it a month ago and we loved it! The atmosphere reminds me of a cafe in Europe. The menu is small but everything we have tried has been exceptional, from the Ham and Bean soup to the Paninis to the Chocolate Mousse. Next on my list is to try the Beef Bourguignon. The owner is very welcoming and the service was great. Le Poulet is BYOB with no corkage fee.
Agnes, the bartender, was friendly and made great suggestions for Polish draught beer, and dinner options. She even wrote down the name info the beer I liked so I could remember it for my next visit. The Red Borscht was flavorful with a light heat. The potato pancakes were excellent as was the stuffed cabbage. The sausage/kielbasa was descent as were the pierogis. Although I ate at the bar to watch the World Cup, there was a very nice garden in the back where couples quietly dined oblivious to the exuberant fans inside. In summary, great food, great service good atmosphere...I'll be back.
