My wife and two close friends stopped by for Sunday dinner. Starting with 2 orders of Spring rolls we each had 2 . Delicately light and crunchy , but not yielding any tastiness. They're great. Three of us had the Mongolian Beef. I requested extra heat and they delivered. We all agreed that the portions were large and the dish itself and better than anywhere we have ever tried. Something extra special. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed her Coconut Pistachio crusted chicken. A sweet Chinese couple own the restaurant. He is the chef and she is the hostess and sometimes served. They both do it very well. Don't miss this treat.

I adore the owner, she always remember my name and my family. The food is consistently hot and delish. I have out of convenience gone to closer Chinese take outs and have regretted it immediately. It is worth the longer drive to get better quality meat and flavor. Go to North Pekin and enjoy Lian Wang!
Where to eat Asian food in Pekin: The Best Restaurants and Bars

I want the buffet items to be fresh and hot.....and not warm and wilted. It must have been a slow night.
There are two Fast Dragon eateries in Pekin. One is the Fast Dragon buffet and there is this one the Fast Dragon Restaurant.Using the term "restaurant" in the name is slightly misleading when describing this establishment. Yes there are tables and booths (seating for about 30? people) but in all the times I've been in there I have never seen anyone actually eating there. It seems that carry-out is their main business. The Fast Dragon Restaurant's menu is pretty large and the prices are very competitive. As I said the restaurant is geared to carry-out so you enter there is an ordering counter immediately ahead. Behind you is a counter with take-out paraphernalia arranged for self service. Behind the counter is the kitchen with an unobstructed view of the food as it is being prepared which is kind of cool. What is not cool is the ventilation system that fails to remove cooking odors from the interior of the business. Several times the smell has been pretty strong and not at all pleasant. Combine that smell with what I think is a general lack of cleanliness, dim lighting and (sometimes) open boxes of supplies sitting on tables.I have ordered food from here a few times and I believe the quality has suffered form what it used to be. At Asian restaurants I usually like the beef with broccoli, Mongolian Beef, or a Happy Family. Lately I have not been satisfied with those dishes so tonight I tried the General Tso's Chicken. My taste buds tell me I can get better taste at the Walmart deli. This is one of those times that saving a dollar does not necessarily equate to a good deal and my impression of this place is that my money can be better spent elsewhere.I am afraid I will not be back.
